Chiefs' Jared Wiley: One catch in preseason opener
Rotowire
Wiley (undisclosed) brought in his only target for two yards in the Chiefs' 20-17 preseason loss to the Cardinals on Saturday night.
Wiley had missed practice last Saturday with an undisclosed injury, but the 2024 fourth-round pick was able to participate in Saturday's contest and make a minimal impact. Wiley, who had only one catch over seven regular-season appearances during his rookie campaign, may have a difficult time beating out veteran Robert Tonyan for the third spot on the depth chart, but the former is likely to get a prolonged look over the Chiefs' last two preseason contests.

Chiefs' Jared Wiley: Sits out practice
Rotowire
Wiley (undisclosed) didn't participate in Kansas City's practice Saturday, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Wiley had been recovering from a torn ACL suffered in practice last November, but it's unclear if his absence is related to that or another injury. Once healthy, the 2024 fourth-round pick is expected to serve as the team's No. 3 tight end behind Travis Kelce and Noah Gray during the upcoming campaign.

Chiefs' Jared Wiley: Working with knee brace
Rotowire
Wiley (ACL) is participating in positional drills at mandatory minicamp Tuesday with a brace on his right knee, Sports Radio 810 WHB reports.
Head coach Andy Reid said in April that Wiley, who tore his ACL last November, is doing well in his recovery. It's encouraging that he's already taking part in individual drills, but the 2024 fourth-round pick may not be fully cleared for training camp or Week 1. Noah Gray remains positioned as the No. 2 tight end behind Travis Kelce for Kansas City, so once fully recovered Wiley will likely find himself competing with Robert Tonyan for the No. 3 spot.

Chiefs' Jared Wiley: Recovery going well
Rotowire
Head coach Andy Reid told reporters Monday that Wiley (knee) is "doing well," Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
Wiley tore his ACL during practice early in November 2024, limiting him to just seven regular-season appearances. In those contests, the TCU product played 88 offensive snaps and caught his only target for seven yards. While Reid did not provide a precise timetable for Wiley's return, the 24-year-old may be on track to return for the start of Kansas City's 2025 campaign.

The Chiefs placed Wiley (knee) on injured reserve Saturday.
Wiley suffered a season-ending torn ACL during Friday's practice. The rookie fourth-round pick will shift his attention toward being healthy for the 2025 season. The Chiefs signed Peyton Hendershot from the practice squad to the active roster in a corresponding move.

Chiefs' Jared Wiley: One catch through six games
Rotowire
Wiley played 10 of the Chiefs' 70 snaps on offense and went without a target in Sunday's 28-18 win over the 49ers.
The fourth-round rookie out of TCU has suited up in each of the Chiefs' first six games but has just one reception to his name. While Travis Kelce and Noah Gray both remain healthy and ahead of him on the depth chart at tight end, Wiley won't have much opportunity to see involvement in the passing game.
