Eagles' Byron Young: Absent with shoulder issue
Young (shoulder) did not participate in Wednesday's practice, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Young missed Wednesday's joint session with the Patriots due to a new issue. The defensive tackle is set to play significant rotational reps for the Eagles in 2026, so any injury will likely be treated with extensive care. It is unclear how much time Young will miss due to the issue, but his absence will likely create further opportunities for Ty Robinson and Uar Bernard in Saturday's preseason showdown with the Patriots.

Eagles' Byron Young: Logs 2.5 sacks with Philly
Young recorded 37 tackles (13 solo), including 2.5 sacks, while playing all 17 regular-season games during the 2025 campaign.
Young stepped in as a primary backup during his first campaign with the Eagles, which was also the first time he played more than six games in a season. The 2023 third-rounder was waived by the Raiders in August of 2024, and he missed the entirety of his second pro season due to a hamstring injury. Young should reprise a rotational role while playing in the final year of his rookie contract in 2026.

Eagles' Byron Young: Tacks on 1.5 sacks
Young posted eight tackles (two solo) and 1.5 sacks in Monday's 22-19 overtime loss to the Chargers.
It has been a turbulent start to Young's career, as the 2023 third-round pick played just six games as a rookie and was cut by the Raiders during the 2024 training camp. He never played during the 2024 season, but he made the Eagles roster in 2025 and has played in all 13 games. Young finally posted a notable stat line this week with a career high in tackles while adding the first sacks of his career.
