Tampa Bay signed Bazelak to its practice squad Thursday, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
The undrafted rookie couldn't beat out Teddy Bridgewater for a spot on the Buccaneers' final 53-man roster for 2025, but he'll be throwing passes for the team on the practice squad. An injury to Bridgewater or starter Baker Mayfield is probably Bazelak's shortest path to an elevation this season.

Connor Bazelak: Waived by Tampa Bay
Rotowire
The Bucs waived Bazelak on Monday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Bazelak played well during the preseason, completing 32 of 46 pass attempts for 261 yards (5.7 yards per attempt) and one touchdown. However, the undrafted rookie out of Bowling Green was always a long shot to make the 53-man roster behind Baker Mayfield, Kyle Trask and newcomer Teddy Bridgewater. Bazelak will be a candidate to land on Tampa Bay's practice squad if he clears waivers.

Buccaneers' Connor Bazelak: Makes deal with Bucs
Rotowire
Tampa Bay signed Bazelak as an undrafted free agent Friday, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Bazelak spent time at Missouri and Indiana before finding his ideal fit in Bowling Green during his last two years in college. His 2024 season was particularly fruitful, as he was able to demonstrate both standout overall production (3,044 passing yards) and efficiency (66.9 percent completion rate). He'll turn 25 in September though, so it's unlikely there's very much room left for him to grow.
