  • Cardinals' Kedon Slovis: Signed to active roster

The Cardinals signed Slovis to the active roster from their practice squad Saturday, Zach Gershman of the team's official site reports.

Slovis will provide extra depth at quarterback, as Kyler Murray (foot) is considered to be a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup against the Colts. If Murray doesn't play, Slovis would serve as the team's backup behind Jacoby Brissett.

  • Kedon Slovis: Added to Arizona's practice squad

The Cardinals signed Slovis to the practice squad Thursday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.

Slovis wasn't able to crack the Texans' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, but he'll get a new opportunity with the Cardinals on the practice squad. The BYU product would be in line to be elevated to the active roster if Kyler Murray or Jacoby Brissett were to miss time.

  • Texans' Kedon Slovis: Sticking around in Houston

The Texans signed Slovis to a reserve/future contract Wednesday.

Slovis was unable to make the Colts' 53-man roster at the end of training camp after signing in late April as an undrafted free agent out of BYU. He signed with the Texans' practice squad Aug. 29, though he was not elevated to the active roster during the regular season or playoffs. Slovis will be part of Houston's 90-man roster when the new league year starts March 12, and the 23-year-old will have the opportunity to participate in OTAs, minicamp and training camp.

The Colts waived Slovis on Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Slovis signed with the Colts in April as an undrafted free agent out of BYU. He was competing against Sam Ehlinger for the emergency quarterback job behind Anthony Richardson and Joe Flacco, and Slovis finished the preseason completing 16 of 22 pass attempts for 149 yards across three outings. Slovis intends to sign with the Colts as an undrafted free agent, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports.

Slovis started his college career at USC and was named Pac-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year in 2019 before leading the Trojans to a 5-1 record in the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign. Slovis struggled the following year and transferred to Pitt for a year before ending at BYU as a fifth-year senior last season. In Indy, Slovis will head into the offseason behind Anthony Richardson, Joe Flacco and Sam Ehlinger.
