  • Saints' Devaughn Vele: Grabs two passes Week 5

Vele hauled in both targets for 13 yards during Sunday's 26-14 win versus the Giants. Vele saw a slight uptick in playing time and targets compared to his last two outings, when he played 34.0 and 6.0 percent of offensive snaps in Week 2 and Week 4, respectively. The second-year wideout has had a much slower start with New Orleans than he did during his 2024 rookie campaign in Denver, where he logged 41 catches (on 55 targets) for 475 yards over 13 regular-season games. Vele's fantasy value will be suppressed so long as he operates as the WR4 behind Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and Brandin Cooks, especially in the Saints' struggling passing offense.

  • Saints' Devaughn Vele: Plays four snaps in return Sunday

Vele accrued zero targets during Sunday's 31-19 loss versus the Bills. Vele missed the Saints' Week 3 loss to Seattle with a hip injury, and he was listed as questionable with a hamstring injury ahead of Sunday's matchup versus Buffalo. The 27-year-old played just four offensive snaps after he logged 17 in Week 1 and 24 in Week 2. Vele will look for more usage during the Week 5 contest versus the Giants on Sunday, Oct. 5, but his fantasy value will remain extremely minimal so long as Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, Juwan Johnson and Brandin Cooks are healthy.

  • Saints' Devaughn Vele: Available against Bills

Vele (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Bills, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports. Vele was bothered by a hamstring injury that cost him Week 3, but he'll be back in the mix against the Bills. He earned only four targets through the first two contests of the season while in a rotational role. With Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed and Juwan Johnson all healthy, Vele is likely going to continue to struggle to find consistent targets.

  • Saints' Devaughn Vele: Questionable for Week 4

Vele (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports. Vele missed last Sunday's game against the Seahawks and played just 28 percent of the offensive snaps across the Saints' first two contests, recording two catches for 16 yards and one touchdown on three targets. He has extremely minimal fantasy appeal.

  • Saints' Devaughn Vele: Logs limited practice Thursday

Vele (hip) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice. Vele was unable to play against the Seahawks this past Sunday due to a hip issue. He has logged back-to-back limited practices to open the week, but he would likely avoid an injury tag heading into Sunday's game against the Bills if he were to fully participate in Friday's session.

  • Saints' Devaughn Vele: Still tending to hip injury

Vele (hip) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday. Vele was unable to play in Week 3 due to a nagging hip issue, and now his status for Week 4 is up in the air. If he's able to upgrade to full participation Thursday or Friday, he could avoid carrying an injury designation into the weekend.

  • Saints' Devaughn Vele: Not playing Week 3

Vele (hip) is inactive for Sunday's tilt against Seattle. Vele logged a limited practice both Thursday and Friday due to a hip injury, and the issue is bothersome enough to keep him out of Sunday's contest. The second-year wideout caught just two passes on four targets for 16 yards during the Saints' first two games, but his absence will nonetheless reduce the depth of the team's wideout corps. Mason Tipton could get more work on offense as a result.

  • Saints' Devaughn Vele: Questionable for Sunday

Vele (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Seattle, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Vele was tacked on to the Saints' Week 3 practice report Thursday as limited due to a hip injury, and his status now is up in the air heading into the weekend. Since his trade from Denver to New Orleans on Aug. 20, he's been a part of the Saints offense through two games, increasing his snap share from 23 percent Week 1 to 34 percent this past Sunday. Still, Vele has seen just four targets on his way to two catches for 16 yards and one touchdown this season.

  • Saints' Devaughn Vele: Pops up on injury report

Vele (hip) was limited in practice Thursday. Vele wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report, an indication that his hip issue may have been sustained during Thursday's practice. The extent of Vele's activity level at Friday's practice may go a long way in determining his availability for Sunday's road game against the Seahawks. He brought in his only target for three yards and a touchdown Week 2 versus the 49ers.

  • Saints' Devaughn Vele: Hauls in short TD versus San Fran

Vele caught his only target for three yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 26-21 defeat versus the 49ers. Vele logged a touchdown on just his second career catch for New Orleans, hauling in a pass on the goal line while running a quick slant out of the slot midway through the fourth quarter. The second-year wideout tied with No. 2 running back Kendre Miller for the team's sixth-most targets Sunday, as quarterback Spencer Rattler tossed at least 34 passes for the second week in a row. Vele has seen pretty limited work during his first two games in New Orleans, and there aren't many opportunities for production behind top wideouts Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed and tight end Juwan Johnson, as those three combined for 24 targets. Vele's limited fantasy value will likely depend on the amount of red-zone and goal-line targets that he sees going forward. His next opportunity will come versus the Seahawks on Sunday, Sept. 21.

  • Saints' Devaughn Vele: Nabs one pass in NOLA debut

Vele recorded one reception (on three targets) for 13 yards during Sunday's 20-13 defeat versus the Cardinals. Vele didn't make much noise during his first game for New Orleans. The former Broncos wideout's first target didn't come until late in the third quarter, and he caught his first pass on the team's second-to-last drive of the game. His lack of production is pretty notable considering that quarterback Spencer Rattler tossed a career-high 46 passing attempts. Nearly all of Rattler's targets went to his top three pass-catchers of Chris Olave (13), Rashid Shaheed (nine) and tight end Juwan Johnson (11). Veteran wideout Brandin Cooks also logged four targets. Vele will look to carve out a larger role for the Saints' Week 2 matchup versus San Francisco.

  • Broncos' Devaughn Vele: Listed with second unit

Vele and Troy Franklin are listed as the second-string wideouts on Denver's initial preseason depth chart. Third-round pick Pat Bryant, like all of Denver's other rookies, is listed at the end of the depth chart with fourth/fifth-stringers. Competition for playing time nonetheless appears open behind No. 1 receiver Courtland Sutton, with Marvin Mims (listed as a starter) arguably the favorite for the No. 2 role after his strong finish to last season. There's also been a lot of buzz about 2024 fourth-round pick Troy Franklin this summer, even though Vele outproduced him last season after being drafted three rounds later. Vele largely worked as a slot specialist last year, so he might be able to carve out a similar role even if he's not really in the mix for a large number of targets.

  • Broncos' Devaughn Vele: Held catchless in playoff debut

Vele failed to secure either of his two targets in Sunday's 31-7 wild-card loss to the Bills. Vele failed to record a single catch for just the second time this season while playing just 22 of the Broncos 42 offensive snaps against this Bills, his lowest snap total of the campaign. Despite the rough ending, the wideout turned in a solid rookie season. Vele finished the year with 41 receptions on 55 targets for 475 yards and three touchdowns across 13 games. The 27-year-old should continue to develop in head coach Sean Payton's system while potentially earning an even larger role in the Broncos' passing attack in 2025.

  • Broncos' Devaughn Vele: Catches deflected TD

Vele recorded four receptions on four targets for 50 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-0 win over the Chiefs. Vele was overshadowed by Marvin Mims and Courtland Sutton, but he also made a key few plays in the game. His first contribution came on a three-yard touchdown catch in the back of the end zone that was deflected multiple times by both teams before ultimately being secured by Vele. He later set up Denver's fourth touchdown of the game with a 32-yard reception midway through the third quarter. Vele's role has faded in recent weeks, as he entered Sunday's game having failed to top 30 receiving yards in four straight matchups. Given the recent emergence of Mims, Vele could continue to see a more peripheral role in the Broncos' wild-card round matchup at Buffalo.

  • Broncos' Devaughn Vele: Minimal production in Week 17

Vele caught both of his targets for 27 yards in Saturday's 30-24 overtime loss to the Bengals. Vele caught just two passes for the second straight week despite playing the second-most offensive snaps (30) behind Courtland Sutton (56). In 12 appearances this season, the rookie wideout has recorded 37 catches on 51 targets for 425 yards and two touchdowns. Vele has proven to be a solid wide receiver in his first year, and his continued development will likely lead to him becoming a more consistent contributor in the Broncos' young receiver corps going forward. With that said, the Utah product remains a dicey start in a Week 18 matchup against the Chiefs based on his limited opportunities in Denver's offense.

  • Broncos' Devaughn Vele: Stashes (WR Preview)

Vele had a disappointing Week 13, and he's on a bye this week, but if I have an extra roster spot, I would like to stash him for the playoffs. He had three straight games with at least 14 PPR Fantasy points before his recent dud, and he faces the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17, when Fantasy championships will be determined.

  • Broncos' Devaughn Vele: Sleeper WRs

Courtland Sutton is a must-start Fantasy receiver heading into Week 13 against the Browns, and Vele is worth using as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in deeper leagues. The Browns are No. 10 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers, and five receivers have scored at least 14.3 PPR points against Cleveland in the past four games. Vele has scored at least 10.6 PPR points in three games in a row, including two outings with at least 13.9 PPR points, and he just had six catches for 80 yards on nine targets in Week 12 at Las Vegas. Let's hope Bo Nix continues to lean on Vele, who has emerged as the second-best receiver for the Broncos this season.

  • Broncos' Devaughn Vele: Racks up 80 yards in win

Vele brought in six of nine targets for 80 yards in Sunday's 29-19 win over the Raiders. Vele finished a close second behind top wideout Courtland Sutton in all receiving categories, but the latter cashed in both of Bo Nix's passing touchdowns Sunday. The seventh-round rookie still managed to set a new career high in receiving yards despite not hitting pay dirt. Vele should be on the radar in deeper formats as the No. 2 option for an improving Bo Nix down the stretch, starting with a home matchup against the Browns on Monday Night Football next week.

  • Broncos' Devaughn Vele: Week 12 Waiver Priority List

Courtland Sutton is the lone Broncos receiver to trust in all leagues, but it would be great to find a second, consistent option in Denver with how well Bo Nix is playing. Vele, Marvin Mims Jr., Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Troy Franklin are all going to get targets, but Vele is the one to add in deeper leagues going into Week 12 at Las Vegas. In his past two games, Vele has nine targets for eight catches, 105 yards and one touchdown, and he scored at least 10.6 PPR points in each outing against Kansas City and Atlanta. He's worth adding for 1 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Broncos' Devaughn Vele: Posts 66 yards in win

Vele caught four of five targets for 66 yards in Sunday's 38-6 win over the Falcons. Vele finished 12 receiving yards shy of Courtland Sutton's team-high total, though neither of them caught any of Bo Nix's four touchdown passes. This was the second-highest receiving yardage total of Vele's career, but the rookie has fallen short of 40 yards in five of seven career NFL appearances. Vele will turn 27 on Dec. 12, which likely contributed to his slide to the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, but he has proven NFL-ready while carving out a meaningful role heading into a Week 12 road game in Vegas.
