  • Dallin Holker: No longer with New Orleans

The Saints waived Holker on Tuesday, John Hendrix of AthlonSports.com reports. Holker originally signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent in April of 2024 and tallied three catches on four targets for 21 yards as a rookie. The Colorado State product got into 12 games last year but didn't seem likely to garner a bigger role this season since the Saints have four veteran tight ends (Juwan Johnson, Taysom Hill (knee), Foster Moreau (knee) and Jack Stoll) on the roster.

  • Saints' Dallin Holker: Back at practice

Holker (undisclosed) participated during minicamp Wednesday, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports. Holker was hindered by a minor injury earlier in the offseason, but he now seems to be back to full strength. Although he suited up for 12 games last season, he might not be a lock for a spot on New Orleans' final 53-man roster when the 2025 season starts.

  • Saints' Dallin Holker: Dealing with injury

Head coach Kellen Moore told reporters Thursday that Holker (undisclosed) is dealing with a "minor" injury, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. The Colorado State product served as the Saints' No. 3 tight end in 2024, catching three of his four targets for 21 yards while playing 104 total snaps (73 offensive, 31 on special teams) across 12 regular-season games. With Holker and Foster Moreau (knee) currently sidelined, Jack Stoll and Moliki Matavao will likely see increased offensive reps.

  • Saints' Dallin Holker: Serves as TE3 in 2024

Holker appeared in 12 regular-season games for New Orleans in 2024, nabbing three of four targets for 21 yards. Holker did not play in the first four games of the season before appearing in 12 of the final 13 contests. The undrafted rookie out of Colorado State was buried on the depth chart behind veteran tight ends Juwan Johnson and Foster Moreau (knee) for much of the season, but he got some more opportunities after Taysom Hill suffered a season-ending ACL tear Week 13. Holker recorded three catches over the final five games of the season, including two receptions during the 27-19 loss to Tampa Bay in Week 18. Johnson is currently set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and the 34-year-old Hill has just one season remaining on his contract with the Saints. Holker could have a path to a more significant role if the Saints don't bring back Johnson and/or Hill for the 2025 campaign.

  • Saints' Dallin Holker: Nabs first NFL reception

Holker played six of the Saints' 68 snaps on offense and recorded a 10-yard reception on his lone target in Sunday's 14-11 win over the Giants. The reception was the first of Holker's career. The undrafted rookie has been buried on the depth chart all season and has seen light snaps in his eight appearances thus far, though he'll have a slightly bigger window of opportunity behind tight ends Juwan Johnson and Foster Moreau after Taysom Hill (knee) suffered a season-ending injury in Week 13.

  • Saints' Dallin Holker: Ramps up activity

Holker (ankle) was a full participant during practice Thursday. Holker sprained his ankle during training camp and missed the team's Week 1 win over the Panthers. After returning to practice in a limited fashion Wednesday, the rookie ramped up to a full participant Thursday, clearing the way for him to make his NFL debut Sunday against the Cowboys.

  • Saints' Dallin Holker: Limited Wednesday

Holker practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday. Holker missed Week 1 due to an ankle injury that's plagued him since mid-August. The undrafted rookie tight end will project to handle a depth role for New Orleans if he manages to suit up for Sunday's road matchup against the Cowboys.

  • Saints' Dallin Holker: Misses practice Wednesday

Holker (ankle) is listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's practice report. Holker sprained his ankle in warmups during a preseason game in mid-August, and the injury could put him in danger of missing Sunday's season opener against the Panthers. The undrafted rookie tight end will have two more chances to increase his practice participation before the Saints potentially assign him an injury designation for Week 1.

  • Saints' Dallin Holker: Has ankle sprain

Coach Dennis Allen revealed after Sunday's 16-10 preseason loss to the 49ers that Holker sprained his ankle in pregame warmups, John Hendrix of Sports Illustrated reports. It was previously reported that Holker sustained an injury in warmups, and Allen clarified the nature of the rookie tight end's issue. Holker will try to recover in time to suit up for New Orleans' preseason finale against the Titans on Sunday, Aug. 25.

  • Saints' Dallin Holker: Injured in warmups Sunday

Holker tweaked something in warmups for Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers and won't play as a result, Saints sideline reporter Jeff Nowak reports. This is a disappointing development for Holker, who had been in line for plenty of playing time in the preseason with starting tight end Juwan Johnson (foot) recovering from surgery. Holker will try to recover in time to face the Titans in the Saints' preseason finale next Sunday.

  • Saints' Dallin Holker: Opportunity knocks

Holker, who signed a one-year contract with $235,000 guaranteed with the Saints after the 2024 NFL Draft, is a name to monitor with Juwan Johnson (foot) in need of surgery, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. Holker's odds of earning a roster spot improve substantially with Johnson facing a long period on the sidelines, and not being a guarantee to be ready for Week 1. Foster Moreau and Taysom Hill will likely handle the majority of first-team reps this offseason with Johnson recovering, but neither are a perfect match for his pass-catching role. Holker, though, is a clear move tight end and racked up a 64-767-6 receiving line in his senior season at Colorado State.

  • Dallin Holker: Signing with New Orleans

Holker is slated to sign with the Saints as an undrafted free agent, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports. Holker left BYU for Colorado State for his senior season and posted an impressive 64-767-6 receiving line in a pass-happy offense. Holker is a finesse, move tight end who functions best in space and not attached to the line as a blocker. He'll join a depth charted headed by Juwan Johnson, Foster Moreau and Taysom Hill in New Orleans.
