  • Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Lands on injured reserve

The Chargers placed Haskins (hamstring) on injured reserve Saturday. Haskins was already ruled out for Sunday's game against the Titans due to a hamstring injury that he sustained during the Chargers' Week 7 loss to the Colts. The injury is severe enough for the fourth-year pro to warrant a stint on injured reserve, which will force him to miss at least the next four games, making Week 14 against the Eagles on Monday, Dec. 8 the earliest he can be activated from IR. Kimani Vidal will be the Chargers' clear RB1 moving forward, with Haskins joining fellow running backs Omarion Hampton (ankle) and Najee Harris (Achilles) on injured reserve. The Chargers elevated Jaret Patterson and Amar Johnson from the practice squad to the active roster to provide backfield depth behind Vidal for Week 9.

  • Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Not playing in Week 9

Haskins (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game in Tennessee. Haskins hasn't been able to practice since he injured his hamstring during a Week 7 loss to the Colts and will miss a second consecutive contest as a result. The Chargers currently have only one healthy running back (Kimani Vidal) on the active roster with Omarion Hampton (ankle) still on injured reserve, so the team will need to bring up reinforcements from the practice squad, where Jaret Patterson, Amar Johnson and Trayveon Williams currently reside, to round out the backfield this weekend.

  • Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Still not practicing

Haskins (hamstring) isn't practicing Thursday, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports. That's now five straight missed practices for Haskins since he hurt his hamstring against the Colts in Week 7. His status for Sunday's matchup versus Tennessee is in considerable peril, and whether he even has a chance to suit up in that game should be known upon the submission of Friday's final injury report. Kimani Vidal should continue to lead the Chargers' running-back corps regardless of whether Haskins is able to suit up, but another absence by the latter would likely result in Jaret Patterson being elevated from the practice squad again for the contest against the Titans.

  • Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Sits out practice Tuesday

Haskins (hamstring) was a non-participant in practice Tuesday. Haskins has gone down as a non-participant on both of the Chargers' first two Week 8 practice reports, and head coach Jim Harbaugh acknowledged earlier Tuesday that the running back is unlikely to play Thursday versus Minnesota. Assuming Haskins is officially ruled out following Wednesday's session, Kimani Vidal would be in line to lead the Los Angeles backfield Thursday, while Nyheim Hines, Jaret Patterson and/or Trayveon Williams could be elevated from the practice squad to provide depth.

  • Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Estimated as DNP on Monday

Haskins (hamstring) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's practice estimate. Haskins suited up for Sunday's 38-24 loss to the Colts despite initially being listed as questionable for the game due to a chest injury, and he's now emerged from the contest managing a hamstring issue. Kimani Vidal logged 13 touches on offense versus three for Haskins against Indianapolis, but neither back got much done in an unusual matchup that saw Justin Herbert log a season-high 55 pass attempts. If Haskins is unable to get healthy on a short week in time to suit up for Thursday Night Football against the Vikings, expect Nyheim Hines to be elevated from the practice squad as the No. 2 option behind Vidal.

  • Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Hardly used despite workload bump

Haskins carried the ball six times for 14 yards and caught his only target for nine yards in Sunday's 29-27 win over the Dolphins. Haskins was supposed to be part of a committee with Kimani Vidal replacing the injured Omarion Hampton (IR, ankle), but Vidal quickly proved to be the far more explosive back and ran away with the workload in the second half, finishing with 124 rushing yards and 14 receiving yards plus a touchdown. That's about as definitive of a difference as one could envision and likely means Haskins, who has primarily been a special-teams player during his time with the Chargers, could get squeezed out of platoon work after Vidal's amazing efforts. It's worth noting Miami's run defense is one of the worst in the league, and the Chargers could lean on the bruising Michigan product in short-yardage situations in future weeks.

  • Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Set to split with Vidal

Offensive coordinator Greg Roman said Thursday that Haskins and Kimani Vidal will both factor in significantly Sunday against the Dolphins, but neither is viewed as the clear lead back, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports. Haskins and Vidal are next in line for backfield touches after Omarion Hampton (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, ensuring Hampton will miss at least four games. Haskins and Vidal played 14 snaps each on offense in the Chargers' 27-10 Week 5 loss to Commanders, during which Hampton got hurt. The Chargers will likely ride the hot hand at running back Sunday in a rotation that could also include Amar Johnson or Nyheim Hines if either are elevated from the practice squad against a Dolphins defense that has allowed the most rushing yards in the league this season.

  • Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Week 6 Adds (RB Preview)

Last week, early in the week, there was a lot of mystery about whether Michael Carter or Emari Demercado would lead the Cardinals backfield. As the week went on, it became clear it was probably Carter. We will be hoping for the same clarity this week with Kimani Vidal and Hassan Haskins vying to fill in for Omarion Hampton. We don't love either of these backs as players, but the matchup with the Dolphins is too good to ignore. We lean Vidal early in the week because we think he has more upside as a rusher, but pay close attention to reports out of Los Angeles and don't be afraid to change your FAB bids when more information comes out. Both Vidal and Haskins are worth an add, but until we get more clarity, I wouldn't spend more than 12% on either. A veteran like Gus Edwards could be looming.

  • Chargers' Hassan Haskins: No bump in playing time

Haskins played five offensive snaps and did not record an offensive stat in the 21-18 loss to the Giants on Sunday. Haskins played five offensive snaps compared to Kimani Vidal's two, but the backfield clearly belonged to rookie Omarion Hampton who put together another fantastic performance on virtually the entire workload. Haskins projects to be the short-yardage back if the Chargers opt for that route, but otherwise clearly isn't a relevant backup in this offense.

  • Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Solid showing against Saints

Haskins took six carries for 33 yards while catching both of his targets for 12 yards in Sunday's 27-13 preseason win over the Saints. Haskins wound up doubling fill-in starter Kimani Vidal's rushing totals with the exact same amount of carries Sunday. Both players currently are competing for reserve roles behind projected starting options Najee Harris (eye) and Omarion Hampton. Haskins will look to build off of this solid performance when the Chargers take on the Rams in Saturday's exhibition tilt.

  • Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Clear depth back during season

Haskins finished the 2024-25 campaign with 34 carries for 89 yards and two touchdowns across 120 offensive snaps. He also caught three passes for 49 yards and an additional score during the season. Haskins was reliably the team's third back behind J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards, who both spent stints on injured reserve throughout the year. Rookie Kimani Vidal saw opportunities ahead of Haskins, particularly during Dobbins' four-week absence during Weeks 13 to 16, but the rotational hodgepodge of the four backs often saw Haskins ahead of Vidal by virtue of his prowess on special teams over the rookie. The former Titans fourth-round pick back in 2022 is on a team-friendly deal next season and could return as a depth piece in a backfield that could be completely reshaped with Dobbins an unrestricted free agent and Edwards due $3 million next season.

  • Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Season high in snaps

Haskins recorded eight carries for 30 yards in the 40-7 drubbing of the Patriots on Sunday. He also caught his lone target for 10 yards. With Gus Edwards (ankle) sidelined, Haskins slid right into the power-back role while playing a season-high 27 offensive snaps. Part of that could be due to game script as the outcome was never really in question after halftime, but that same sequence could repeat itself once more against the Raiders in Week 18 with the Chargers playing for better playoff seeding.

  • Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Scores touchdown in win

Haskins caught both of his targets for 39 yards and a touchdown in the 34-27 win over the Broncos on Thursday. Haskins isn't known for his receiving prowess. In fact, Thursday accounted for the second-year back's first two receptions of the 2024 campaign, and he now has just 13 total across his career despite playing 216 offensive snaps. While the 25-year-old showcased his impressive footwork by juking out a Denver defender en route to 34-yard checkdown touchdown where he effectively went untouched, that type of result isn't likely to occur again.

  • Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Gets involved after Dobbins' injury

Haskins took one carry for three yards during Monday's 30-23 loss versus the Ravens. After regular starter J.K. Dobbins suffered an MCL sprain, Haskins was able to pace Chargers running backs in terms of snaps in Week 12. With that said, his one carry lagged far behind Gus Edwards' nine. He projects to rotate with rookie sixth-rounder Kimani Vidal behind Edwards when the Chargers travel to Atlanta in Week 13.

  • Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Just two carries in win

Haskins carried the ball twice for five yards in the 23-17 win over the Broncos on Sunday. There was some thought the 24-year-old could take over for the injured Gus Edwards (ankle) given Haskins had been active all five games, but rookie Kimani Vidal stepped in immediately and effectively ended that speculation with 51 total yards and a touchdown on six touches. Expect Haskins to remain on the active roster but used specifically on special teams.

  • Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Questionable for Week 2

Haskins (toe) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Panthers. The first-year Charger is in jeopardy of missing Sunday's contest after logging a week of limited practice sessions due to a toe injury. Los Angeles' special-teams unit will take a hit if Haskins is unable to suit up in Week 2, as he was one of the Chargers' top special-teamers in Week 1.

  • Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Pops up with toe injury

Haskins (toe) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Haskins logged 19 special-teams snaps during the Chargers' Week 1 win, but he now appears to be dealing with a toe injury. If the third-year running back from Michigan has to miss time due to this issue, expect Kimani Vidal to work as Los Angeles' third-string running back.
... See More ... See Less
  • Chargers' Hassan Haskins: Not involved in win

Haskins failed to record an offensive snap in Sunday's 22-10 win over the Chargers. Haskins was not involved in the offensive game plan Sunday, instead working on special teams for 19 snaps. Fellow running backs Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins were the primary options out of the backfield, with Dobbins separating himself as the more efficient option. Haskins will likely find it difficult to see much playing time on offense, especially as rookie Kimani Vidal develops this season. Haskins should remain far off the fantasy radar when the Chargers visit the Panthers in Week 2.

  • Hassan Haskins: Waived by Tennessee

The Titans waived Haskins on Tuesday. With Haskins having been waived, Tony Pollard, Tyjae Spears, and Julius Chestnut are the running backs currently on Tennessee's 53-man roster. Haskins could be claimed by another team, but if he passes through waivers, he might potentially end up back with Titans on their practice squad.

  • Titans' Hassan Haskins: Heads back to injured reserve

Haskins (undisclosed) was removed from the commissioner exempt list Friday, but he returned to injured reserve following the transaction, Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com reports. Haskins found himself on the commissioner exempt list Aug. 29 through Friday after charges were dropped Thursday following allegations of aggravated assault stemming from an arrest during the summer. Now that his legal situation has been settled, he'll remain on IR for the rest of the season unless the Titans opt to waive the 2022 fourth-round pick at some point.
