    Smith did not appear on the Cardinals' injury report Wednesday, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports. Smith was claimed off of the Seahawks' practice squad last week and he looks set to be active for Arizona on Sunday versus the Bears. It's unclear what role the 23-year-old could play on the Cardinals' defense.

    Smith was waived by the Seahawks on Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official website reports. Smith will now be available to be claimed by another team and if not, he'll likely return to Seattle's practice squad. The linebacker made his NFL debut in Week 2, recording a tackle while playing 14 combined snaps between the defense and special teams.

Smith missed the entire 2022 season due to hip issues and managed to participate in only a handful of practices before being sidelined.     The Seahawks selected Smith in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 158th overall. Seattle continues to target defense on Day 3 by adding Smith after nabbing secondary help earlier in the day. Smith is a defensive end out of Ohio State who was a blue-chip recruit out of high school. He registered 8.0 sacks during his time as a Buckeye and uses his speed to fuel his pass-rush plan. Smith can rotate with L.J. Collier at defensive end in Seattle.
