Top DeMarvion Overshown News

  • Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Limited in Tuesday's practice

Overshown was a limited participant in Tuesday's training camp practice due to soreness in his legs and lower body, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

The limitations on Overshown's practice reps was a cautionary move by the Cowboys, and the 2023 third-rounder's injuries aren't a long-term concern. Overshown missed the first nine games of the 2025 regular season while recovering from a torn ACL, MCL and PCL that he sustained in December of 2024 and then missed the final two contests while in the league's concussion protocol.

  • Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Practicing at middle linebacker

Overshown has been practicing at middle and weakside linebacker during minicamp, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.

The linebacker is also healthy and wearing no knee brace, per Machota. That's significant, seeing as he missed 12 games with a knee injury in 2025. Overshown made an impact in 2024, with 90 tackles (56 solo), including 5.0 sacks, four pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery across 13 regular-season games.

  • Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Appears to be healthy

Overshown (concussion) is taking part in the Cowboys' offseason program, Joseph Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Overshown missed 12 games in 2025 after dealing with a lingering knee injury to begin the season and then sat out the Cowboys' final two contests with a concussion. The 25-year-old is expected to participate in his healthiest offseason since his rookie year and looks to build on his 28 tackles (15 solo) through six games in 2025.

  • Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Ruled out with concussion

Overshown (concussion) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.

Overshown has been in the league's concussion protocol since Week 16, and his downgrade to did-not-participate in Friday's practice session has sealed his fate for the 2025 season. The linebacker will end the season with 12 missed games, three times more than he missed in his rookie season. With Logan Wilson set to start Sunday's game in his place, Overshown will finish a short 2025 campaign with 28 tackles (15 solo) through six games and just 218 defensive snaps.

  • Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Limited in Wednesday's practice

Overshown (concussion) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.

Overshown entered the league's concussion protocol during the Cowboys' Week 16 loss to the Chargers, which prevented him from playing against the Commanders on Christmas Day. His ability to practice in a limited capacity indicates that he is progressing in his recovery, but Overshown would need to be cleared from the league's protocol by an independent neurologist in order to be available for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Giants.

  • Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Out for Thursday

Overshown (concussion) has been ruled out ahead of Thursday's matchup against the Commanders, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.

The third-year pro from Texas sustained a concussion in the Week 16 loss to the Chargers, so it's no surprise that he'll be sidelined Thursday. Overshown has appeared in six contests since returning from a knee injury in the Week 11 matchup against the Raiders, recording 28 total tackles. While he's out in Week 17, expect Marist Liufau to operate as Dallas' top weakside linebacker.

  • Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Estimated as DNP on Monday

Overshown (concussion) was estimated as a non-participant on Monday's practice report, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

The Cowboys held a walkthrough Monday after losing to the Chargers on Sunday. Overshown was concussed in that contest and would seem to be long shot to clear the protocol in time for Thursday's date with the Commanders.

  • Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown: Done for Week 16 due to concussion

Overshown (concussion) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's matchup against the Chargers, AllDLLS.com reports.

Overshown was hurt during the first quarter and headed to the blue medical tent to get evaluated for a concussion. He eventually went to the locker room before being ruled out. Marist Liufau may get more snaps on defense with Overshown out of action. The latter will need to clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol in order to play on Christmas Day against the Commanders.
