  • Beanie Bishop: Reaches injury settlement with Chicago

The Bears waived Bishop (undisclosed/suspension) from injured reserve Wednesday with an injury settlement, Howard Balzer of USA Today reports.

Bishop reverted to the Bears' injured reserve list on Aug. 31 after he cleared waivers. The cornerback is still suspended for the first four games of the 2026 season, but he is now a free agent able to sign with any organization once he regains his health.

  • Bears' Beanie Bishop: Moved to injured reserve

Bishop (suspension, undisclosed) reverted to the Bear's injured reserve Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

The move to IR means Bishop will be forced to miss the entire 2026 season unless an injury settlement is reached with Chicago. If he signs with another team, then Bishop will be required to miss three games while serving a suspension for a violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy.

  • Beanie Bishop: Waived with injury designation

Bishop (suspension) was waived by the Bears with an injury designation Sunday.

Bishop is already set to miss the first three weeks of the 2026 campaign while serving a suspension for a violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy. The cornerback is now dealing with an apparent injury as well, and if he goes unclaimed on waivers, he'll revert to injured reserve with the Bears.

  • Bears' Beanie Bishop: Signs with Chicago

The Bears signed Bishop (suspension) to a contract Sunday.

Bishop finds a new home with the Bears shortly after being waived by the Saints in late July. The cornerback is set to miss the first three games of the 2026 regular season for a violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy back in March. Bishop's suspension does not prohibit him from practicing or playing during the preseason, so he may see some action due to the injuries to Coby Bryant (knee), Cam Lewis (leg), Elijah Hicks (shin), Kyler Gordon (calf) and Terell Smith (knee).

  • Beanie Bishop: Done in New Orleans

The Saints waived Bishop (suspension) on Tuesday, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.

Bishop was issued a suspension for the first three games of the 2026 regular season for a violation of the NFL's substances of abuse policy back in March, and now he's on his way out of New Orleans. He'll become an unrestricted free agent unless he's claimed by another club during the current waiver period.

  • Saints' Beanie Bishop: Suspended three games

The NFL has suspended Bishop for the first three games of the 2026 regular season, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.

The league didn't mention the reason for the suspension in its announcement, but Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that it was for a violation of the NFL's substances of abuse policy. Bishop will still be able to participate in offseason activities and preseason contests. He had a significant role for the Steelers as a rookie in 2024 but didn't see any NFL action last year, splitting the campaign between the Steelers' and Saints' practice squads.
