  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Distant No. 2 behind Skattebo

Tracy rushed four times for six yards and wasn't targeted in Thursday's 34-17 win over the Eagles. Tracy returned from a two-game absence due to a shoulder injury but ceded the vast majority of backfield opportunities to Cam Skattebo, who turned 21 touches into 110 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns. Tracy was on the field for 21 offensive snaps compared to only four for Devin Singletary, but Skattebo led the backfield with 49 snaps in addition to getting the lion's share of rushing opportunities. With Skattebo finding success in a workhorse role, Tracy likely will be relegated to a change-of-pace role moving forward.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Cleared to face Eagles

Tracy (shoulder) does not carry an injury designation for Thursday's matchup against Philadelphia, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Tracy was estimated as a limited participant at practice Monday and Tuesday, but he's now set to return from his two-game absence and take the field for Thursday Night Football. Rookie fourth-round pick Cam Skattebo has emerged as the Giants' lead back and has tallied at least 90 scrimmage yards in three consecutive contests, but he's also handled a tremendous workload, so Tracy could handle significant touches even if he operates in a clear reserve capacity versus the Eagles. Devin Singletary is also available behind Skattebo and Tracy.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Estimated as limited Monday

Tracy (shoulder) was estimated as a limited participant on Monday's practice report, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Tracy returned to practice last Friday and appears to be nearing a return after missing the Giants' past two contests following his shoulder injury Week 3 against the Chiefs. During Tracy's absence, Cam Skattebo has started each of the last two games and has totaled 40-138-0 rushing and 8-56-0 on nine targets out of the backfield. Skattebo lost a critical fumble at the goal line in Sunday's loss to the Saints and hasn't shown enough to slam the door on Tracy regaining his role as the team's RB1 upon his return.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: In line to practice Friday

Coach Brian Daboll noted that Tracy (shoulder) is slated to practice Friday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Per the report, Tracy, who didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, is doing "a lot better," and the running back's status for Sunday's game against the Saints has yet to be determined. Added clarity on that front will arrive via the Giants' final Week 5 injury report Friday, but if Tracy is ultimately forced to miss another game, Cam Skattebo would continue to lead the team's backfield this weekend, with Devin Singletary on hand to work in a complementary role.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Remains absent from practice

Giants head coach Brian Daboll said that Tracy (shoulder) won't practice Thursday, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports. Tracy has yet to resume practicing since dislocated his right shoulder in the Giants' 22-9 loss to the Chiefs on Sept. 21. With reports suggesting that Tracy will need 2-to-4 weeks to make a full recovery from the injury, he's on track to miss a second straight game Sunday in New Orleans, though the running back could have a shot at playing in the Giants' Week 6 matchup with the Eagles next Thursday. Tracy's upcoming absence this weekend should once again clear the way for rookie Cam Skattebo to take on a leading role out of the backfield.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Absent from practice Wednesday

Tracy (shoulder) is not practicing Wednesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. Tracy's shoulder injury forced him to sit out Week 4, and reports suggest that he'll be sidelined multiple games. With all expectations being that Tracy again sits out Week 5, Devin Singletary will get another opportunity to contribute as the No. 2 running back behind rookie Cam Skattebo. After that, Tracy will face a short turnaround to attempt to take the field on Thursday Night Football against the Eagles in Week 6.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Ruled out for Week 4

Tracy (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. The Giants waited until Friday to rule Tracy out, even though reports suggest he'll miss multiple games. Cam Skattebo took 69 percent of snaps after Tracy's early departure from the Week 3 loss to Kansas City, finishing the night with 16 touches for 121 yards and a touchdown. Devin Singletary had just four carries for 11 yards, but there's some chance he'll be more involved now that the Giants had time to prepare for Tracy's absence.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Not practicing

Tracy (shoulder) isn't practicing Friday, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports. Tracy hasn't practiced since making an early exit from a Week 3 loss to Kansas City. Rookie Cam Skattebo figures to lead the Giants backfield again this Sunday against the Chargers, with Devin Singletary easing into the No. 2 role.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: DNP on Wednesday

Tracy (shoulder) didn't take part in Wednesday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site rpeorts. Tracy exited this past Sunday's loss to the Chiefs in the first quarter due to a shoulder injury, which was revealed to be a dislocation one day later. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Tuesday that Tracy is expected to miss 2-to-4 weeks, and the running back's absence Wednesday is the first step in advance of him getting ruled out ahead of or being inactive for Sunday's game against the Chargers. Rookie fourth-round pick Cam Skattebo figures to handle a healthy portion of the Giants' backfield reps moving forward, but Devin Singletary also is on hand for any snaps and touches that linger.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Could miss 2-4 weeks

Tracy, who suffered a dislocated shoulder Sunday, is expected to be sidelined two to four weeks, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Per Dan Salomone and Matt Citak of the Giants' official site, coach Brian Daboll noted Monday that the team was still in the process of getting more information about the running back's injury, but it looks like Tracy is going to miss some time. In that scenario, added backfield reps, beginning this weekend against the Chargers, would be available for Cam Skattebo and Devin Singletary.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Injures shoulder on SNF

Tracy exited Sunday night's game against the Chiefs with a right shoulder injury and is questionable to return, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports. Tracy took a swing pass from Russell Wilson to the left sideline and collided with Jaylen Watson, taking the brunt of the blow to his right shoulder. Tracy stayed on the ground and immediately started grabbing at his shoulder before heading to the locker room with the training staff. With Tracy out of the game, Cam Skattebo and Devin Singletary will handle backfield duties for the G-Men.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy Jr.: RBs to Sit

We can put Cam Skattebo here also, since I don't love the Giants backfield in this matchup against the Chiefs, and we'll see who leads the Giants in playing time in Week 3. In Week 1 at Washington, it was Tracy at 74 percent, but he managed just 35 total yards on 12 total touches, including two catches. In Week 2 at Dallas, Tracy played 42 percent of the snaps and finished with five carries for 15 yards and four catches for 36 yards on five targets. Skattebo, meanwhile, had a standout game against the Cowboys on 52 percent of the snaps with 11 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown and two catches for 14 yards on three targets. It's tough to run on Kansas City, and the Chiefs should be able to contain Tracy and Skattebo in this game. I like Skattebo better than Tracy in Week 3, but both Giants running backs are flex options at best in the majority of leagues.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Dealing with chest issue

Tracy was limited at Wednesday's practice due to a calf injury, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. After handling a 74 percent snap share during a Week 1 loss at Washington, Tracy fell all the way back to 42 percent in Sunday's loss in Dallas, while rookie Cam Skattebo jumped from 12 percent in the season opener to 52 percent Week 2. The result: Tracy recorded nine touches for 51 yards from scrimmage, and Skattebo had 13 touches for 59 total yards Sunday. Tracy's dip in usage may have been attributed to a health concern, and now his status will be one to monitor ahead of a Week 3 matchup with the Chiefs.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy Jr.: Sleeper RBs

Tracy is worth using as a flex with his matchup against the Commanders. He should lead the Giants in touches, but we'll see how much Cam Skattebo works in. Tracy didn't fare well in his last meeting with the Commanders in Week 9, with 16 carries for 66 yards and one catch for 3 yards, but I'm hopeful for more work in the passing game with Russell Wilson under center. Tracy had at least 14 receiving yards in five of his past seven games in 2024, which should help.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Runs for 39 yards Saturday

Tracy rushed seven times for 39 yards in the Giants' 31-12 exhibition win over the Jets on Saturday. Tracy wasn't targeted in the passing game and was also stuffed on his goal-line carry from the one-yard line. On the next play, Devin Singletary entered the game and punched in the one-yard touchdown. Tracy has carried the ball 10 times this preseason, gaining 48 yards, and with rookie Cam Skattebo (hamstring) missing both exhibitions and multiple practices, Tracy appears locked in atop the depth chart headed into the Week 1 opener against the Commanders in three weeks.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Five touches in preseason opener

Tracy carried the ball three times for nine yards and caught both his targets for seven yards in Saturday's 34-25 preseason win over the Bills. The second-year running back got the start in the Giants' first exhibition contest but played only one drive before being subbed out for Devin Singletary. Tracy saw heavy volume while he was on the field however, an encouraging sign for his usage in 2025 after a strong rookie campaign that saw him produce 1,123 scrimmage yards and six TDs while playing all 17 regular-season games. Singletary and rookie Cam Skattebo (hamstring) should offer reliable depth, but the path appears to be clear for Tracy to handle a big workload this season.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Atop first unofficial depth chart

Tracy is listed as the No. 1 running back on New York's first unofficial depth chart, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Tracy is unsurprisingly listed as New York's starter, while Devin Singletary and rookie Cam Skattebo (hamstring) occupy the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, respectively. Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com reports that Tracy has displayed improved decisiveness in camp entering Year 2, an encouraging development given that the 2024 fifth-round pick's impressive rookie season nonetheless left room for growth (especially in terms of ball security and work as a receiver). Improvements will be necessary for Tracy to retain an unquestioned grip on a full-time starting workload, though he remains the clear favorite to open Week 1 in such a role. Skattebo had begun gathering steam early in camp before picking up a soft-tissue injury, with coach Brian Daboll calling the rookie fourth-rounder day-to-day over the weekend.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Joined by Skattebo in backfield

The Giants drafted RB Cam Skattebo at No. 105 overall to compete with Tracy and Devin Singletary, per NFL.com's Kevin Patra. Taken 166th overall a year earlier, Tracy never looked back after Singletary's groin injury opened up a starting job Week 5. Tracy started 12 of 13 games from that point forward and averaged 4.4 YPC for the season, despite being stuck in a brutal offense, with the main negatives being five fumbles and five drops. He's the favorite to start Week 1, but it may be an open competition this summer, considering Singletary has a respectable track record as an NFL starter and Skattebo exploded for 2,316 yards from scrimmage at Arizona State last year. Speed is the obvious advantage for Tracy, a former college wideout who ran a 4.48 40 at 5-foot-11, 209 pounds. Singletary ran a 4.66 before he was drafted six years ago, and Skattebo was timed around 4.6 or 4.65 at his pro day this spring.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy Jr.: RBs to Start

Tracy had a rough game in Week 17 against the Colts despite 22 total touches. He had 20 carries for 59 yards and two catches for 14 yards on three targets for just 9.3 PPR points. But I like that he dominated playing time again with 66 percent of the snaps, and he should be able to rebound in Week 18 against the Eagles. Normally, this would be a matchup to avoid, but Philadelphia plans to rest its starters for the playoffs. I'll trust Tracy as a No. 2 running back against backups, and he has scored at least 14.5 PPR points in three of his past five games overall.

  • Giants' Tyrone Tracy: Quiet outside of 40-yard run

Tracy rushed 20 times for 59 yards while catching two of three targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 45-33 win over the Colts. Tracy ripped off a 40-yard run in the first quarter but mustered only 19 yards on his other 19 carries. Devin Singletary had only five rushing attempts, so Tracy remains the clear lead option in the backfield for the Giants. Barring a setback with the ankle injury that limited Tracy's practice reps heading into Sunday's win, he should reprise his role as the Giants' top running back in Week 18 against an Eagles team that could opt to rest some starters for the playoffs.
