Giants' Ar'Darius Washington: Starting at safety sans Nubin
With Tyler Nubin (calf) inactive, Washington will start at safety against the Titans on Sunday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Nubin was not cleared by medical staff to play Sunday, so Washington and Jevon Holland will be the Giants' starting safeties for Week 3, with Jason Pinnock and Elijah Campbell providing depth at the position. Washington has two tackles (one solo) through two regular-season games, and the last time he was a regular starter on defense was during the second half of the 2024 campaign as a member of the Ravens.

Giants' Ar'Darius Washington: Inks deal with Big Blue
Washington signed with the Giants on Friday, Matt Citak of the team's official site reports.
Washington signed with the Ravens in May of 2021 and spent the first five years of his NFL career in Baltimore, appearing in 29 regular-season games over that span. He spent most of the 2025 campaign on the reserve/PUP list due to a torn Achilles but was cleared to make his debut in mid-December. He logged seven tackles (three solo) and one forced fumble across four regular-season games while serving in a rotational role in the secondary. Washington will likely operate in a similar role with the Giants, though he will have the opportunity to compete with Tyler Nubin (neck) and Jevon Holland (knee) for a starting role at safety in 2026.

Washington (Achilles) is active for Sunday's matchup against Cincinnati.
Washington's ability to suit up Sunday was forecasted by his activation from the reserve/PUP list Saturday. If the veteran safety sees action against the Bengals, as expected, it will be his season debut after he tore his Achilles during conditioning in May. The Ravens activated Washington (Achilles) from the reserve/PUP on Saturday and list him as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against Cincinnati.
Washington was designated to return to practice Dec. 2 but was not activated ahead of last week's loss the Steelers. The 26-year-old safety will be eligible to make his season debut Week 15, but it's still unclear if he'll play.
