  • Chiefs' Chamarri Conner: Leads team in stops in defeat

Conner tallied eight tackles (five solo), including 1.0 sacks, in a Week 11 loss to Denver on Sunday. Conner began the game in fine form, sacking Bo Nix for a six-yard loss on the first play. Conner went on to lead the Chiefs in tackles while playing every defensive snap for the team. The third-year safety is already one shy of his career-best regular-season mark with 76 tackles through 10 contests, though he doesn't yet have a defensed pass on the campaign.

  • Chiefs' Chamarri Conner: Chiefs' leading tackler Monday

Conner recorded 10 tackles (five solo) during Monday's 28-7 win versus the Commanders. Despite a relatively low-tempo attack from the Washington offense in Week 8, Conner was able to log double digits in the tackle column for the third time this season. He's firmly on the IDP radar heading into a Week 9 tilt at Buffalo.

  • Chiefs' Chamarri Conner: Career-high 14 tackles in win

Conner piled up 14 tackles (10 solo) and one forced fumble in the Chiefs' win over the Lions on Sunday. Conner's 14 total tackles and 10 solo tackles marked new career-highs for the third-year defensive back. His forced fumble on Amon-Ra St. Brown in the fourth quarter helped lead to a Lions punt two plays later. On the season, Conner has played more than 99 percent of the defensive snaps, logging 51 tackles (29 solo) and a pair of forced fumbles.

  • Chiefs' Chamarri Conner: Six tackles in Week 4 win

Conner recorded six tackles (four solo) in Kansas City's win over Baltimore on Sunday. After starting just 16 of 32 regular-season games in which he appeared across his first two seasons, Conner has started all four games for the Chiefs to begin the season and has been in on over 99 percent of the defensive snaps. Conner has recorded 30 tackles (15 solo) and one QB hit.

  • Chiefs' Chamarri Conner: Posts five stops Sunday

Conner finished with five tackles (one solo) in Sunday's 22-9 Week 3 win against the Giants. Conner's tackle total was his lowest through three games but was still a respectable mark from an IDP perspective. The cornerback has 24 total stops on the campaign, a pace that puts his well on his way to surpassing the career-high mark of 77 tackles that he established across 15 regular-season contests last year. Conner didn't surpass an 80 percent defensive-snap share in any matchup last season but has played all but two of the Chiefs' defensive snaps so far in 2025.

  • Chiefs' Chamarri Conner: Takes step forward in 2024

Conner finished the 2024 season with 77 tackles (58 solo), including 1.0 sacks, four pass breakups, including two interceptions, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one defensive touchdown across 15 regular-season games. After starting seven games as a rookie, Conner made nine starts in his second pro season, operating as the Chiefs' top slot cornerback. He recovered a fumble Week 2 against the Bengals and returned it 38 yards for his defensive touchdown. During the postseason, Conner made 20 tackles (11 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and forced one fumble across three contests. He should get the first crack at covering the slot once again in 2025.

  • Chiefs' Chamarri Conner: Ruled out for Week 17

Conner (concussion) won't play in Wednesday's matchup against Pittsburgh. Conner suffered a concussion Week 15 against Cleveland and will now be forced to sit out a second straight game. That should open the door for Christian Roland-Wallace to get more work after he tallied a season-high 31 defensive snaps last Saturday versus Houston. Conner will look to recover in time to play in Kansas City's regular-season finale, which will take place Sunday, Jan. 5 in Denver.

  • Chiefs' Chamarri Conner: Won't practice Monday

Head coach Andy Reid said Conner (concussion) will not participate in Monday's practice, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports. Conner was diagnosed with a concussion during the Chiefs' Week 15 win over the Browns. He was inactive for this past Saturday's game against the Texans, and Conner faces an uphill battle to clear the league's five-step concussion protocols ahead of Wednesday's game against the Steelers. If Conner is ruled out for Christmas Day, Christian Roland-Wallace -- who played a season-high 31 defensive snaps in Week 16 -- would be slated to serve as the Chiefs' slot corner.

  • Chiefs' Chamarri Conner: Ruled out for Week 16

Conner (concussion) did not practice Thursday and is ruled out for Saturday's game against the Texans. Conner will predictably remain sidelined Saturday after having exited Kansas City's win over Cleveland in Week 15 due to a concussion. The 2023 fourth-round pick will need to gain full clearance from the concussion protocol, including from an independent neurologist, in order to retake the field Week 17 against the Steelers.

  • Chiefs' Chamarri Conner: Ruled out Sunday

Conner (concussion) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Browns. The slot cornerback recorded four tackles (three solo) before exiting. Conner has 72 tackles (55 solo), including 1.0 sacks, four pass breakups, including two interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 2024. Christian Roland-Wallace, Keith Taylor and Nazeeh Johnson are Kansas City's backup cornerbacks.

  • Chiefs' Chamarri Conner: Active in close win

Conner finished with seven tackles (six solo) in the Chiefs' 19-17 win over the Raiders on Friday. The slot cornerback and second-year pro also played on more than 70 percent of the defensive snaps for the fifth game in a row and for the sixth time this season. In a larger role, Conner has already exceeded his numbers from his rookie year in every major statistical category, posting 59 tackles (45 solo), including 1.0 sacks, four passes defensed, including two interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 2024. He should continue to play his slot-corner role in next week's divisional matchup against the Chargers.

  • Chiefs' Chamarri Conner: Has scoop-and-score vs. Cincy

Conner finished Sunday's 26-25 win over the Bengals with six tackles (four solo), including 1.0 sacks, and returned a fumble for a 38-yard touchdown. Conner played just 29 of the Chiefs' 64 defensive snaps Sunday, but the 2023 fourth-round pick made the most of his playing time. He scooped up a Joe Burrow fumble caused by Tershawn Wharton and returned it for a 38-yard touchdown on the second play of the fourth quarter to give the Chiefs a one-point lead. Conner made another high-impact play late in the fourth frame, when he sacked Burrow for nine yards on third down, which led to a Bengals punt and the eventual game-winning 51-yard field goal from Harrison Butker as time expired. Conner should see plenty of work in pass coverage against Kirk Cousins and the Falcons in Week 3.
