Commanders' Colson Yankoff: Works as Washington's No. 3 tight end
Yankoff caught his only target for 14 yards in Sunday's Week 2 loss to Dallas.
Yankoff logged 21 of the Commanders' 71 offensive snaps, ranking third among the team's tight ends behind Ben Sinnott (48) and John Bates (22). Washington was without starter Chig Okonkwo, who is dealing with a hamstring injury. Yankoff doesn't seem slated for a major role even with Okonkwo out of action, so he's currently off the radar in most fantasy formats.

Commanders' Colson Yankoff: Increased work in second season
Yankoff caught two of three targets for 18 yards across 14 regular-season games in 2025.
The UCLA product logged just 107 total snaps (101 on special teams, six on offense) across six regular-season games during his rookie campaign in 2024. However, he played a much larger role in his second season, logging 246 special-teams snaps and 107 offensive snaps. Despite the increased playing time, Yankoff was targeted just three times and operated in a depth role within Washington's tight end room. Under contract through 2026, the 25-year-old is expected to compete for a larger offensive role this offseason.

Yankoff missed Saturday night's loss to the Eagles but appears to be ready to return to the lineup following a one-game absence. Yankoff has a total of two catches for 18 yards on three targets across 12 appearances this season. He carries extremely minimal fantasy value.

Yankoff (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Saturday's game against the Eagles, Ben Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
Yankoff was unable to practice all week due to the ankle injury he sustained in last Sunday's win over the Giants. The tight end's absence means the position room only has John Bates and Ben Sinnott ready for Saturday. Due to this development, rookies Robert McDaniel out of Jackson State University or Gee Scott out of Ohio State could be elevated from the practice squad ahead of Saturday's contest.

Yankoff (ankle) did not practice Tuesday, Ben Standig of Big 100 Washington D.C. reports.
Yankoff hurt his ankle Sunday against the Giants and apparently remains bothered by the issue. He'll almost certainly need to practice in some capacity by Thursday to have a chance of suiting up Saturday against Philadelphia. The Commanders are already shorthanded at tight end with Zach Ertz (knee) done for the season, so John Bates and Ben Sinnott are currently the team's only healthy players at the position.

Yankoff (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Giants.
Yankoff appeared to sustain the injury early in the second half, and he's being evaluated by medical staff to determine whether he can return to Sunday's game. Ben Sinnott should see a slight uptick in offensive snaps for as long as Yankoff is out of the game.

Yankoff likely sustained a hamstring injury during Friday's practice, and the issue now appears serious enough for him to miss Monday night's contest. The UCLA product has appeared in all seven of Washington's games this season, failing to record an offensive stat while playing 184 total snaps (140 on special teams, 44 on offense).
