Eagles' Joe Ostman: Returns to practice
Ostman (lower body) participated in Saturday's practice, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Ostman missed a couple of practices but is back in the fold, seeking to secure a reserve role on the Eagles' defensive front. Derek Barnett (ankle), Vinny Curry (lower body) and Genard Avery (lower body) are all currently sidelined, albeit considered day-to-day, so Ostman could get some reps with the first-team defense until they return.

Eagles' Joe Ostman: Day-to-day
Ostman is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The specifics of the injury remain unknown, but it is apparently not overly serious. The 25-year-old suffered a torn ACL in training camp last year, which sidelined him for the entire 2019 campaign.

Eagles' Joe Ostman: Done for the season
Ostman (knee) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Daniel Gallen of PennLive.com reports.

Eagles' Joe Ostman: Leaves practice on cart
Ostman went down during Sunday's practice with an apparent leg injury and needed to be carted off the field, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports.
Ostman reportedly suffered the injury during a special teams drill, and he wasn't able to put any weight on his leg. While the extent of the issue is not yet known, this certainly isn't a good sign for Ostman, who was putting together a solid camp so far.

Eagles' Joe Ostman: Making case for roster spot
Ostman has a realistic chance of making the Eagles' final 53-man roster in advance of the regular season, Zack Rosenblatt of The Newark Star-Ledger reports. "When you look at the transition he's made with his body just in the offseason, I know a lot of the coaching staff is excited to see him in his second year," general manager Howie Roseman said of the defensive end.
Ostman (6-foot-3, 255 pounds) is a second-year edge player who went undrafted last spring and spent the entire season on Philadelphia's practice squad. He'll have to compete with the likes of Josh Sweat and Shareef Miller for a roster spot after an offseason in which the Eagles brought back Vinny Curry and Brandon Graham in free agency. Ostman's path could open up depending on the fallout of Chris Long's retirement decision.
