  • Dolphins' Elijah Campbell: Won't play Week 6

Campbell (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports. Campbell will sit out for the first time this season after being active for Miami's first five games. The backup safety's contributions have been limited, as he has just two tackles in 2025.

  • Dolphins' Elijah Campbell: Four tackles in return

Campbell (knee) compiled four total tackles (three solo) in Saturday's 14-6 preseason win over the Jaguars. Campbell made his return to action after missing some time with a knee injury, logging 24 snaps with the defense and nine snaps on special teams. Now healthy, the 30-year-old is all set to enter the 2025 campaign as the top reserve option behind starter Minkah Fitzpatrick at free safety.

  • Dolphins' Elijah Campbell: Injury not serious

Coach Mike McDaniel said Sunday that Campbell's knee injury isn't believed to be serious, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Campbell played 19 defensive snaps in Sunday's preseason opener against the Bears, finishing with three tackles (one solo) before departing with the injury. Campbell appeared in all 17 regular-season contests with Miami last season, making one start.

  • Dolphins' Elijah Campbell: Exits game with knee injury

Campbell left in the second quarter of Sunday's preseason game against the Bears due to a right knee injury, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Campbell was able to walk off the field under his own power and is undergoing further tests in the blue medical tent. Given that it's the preseason, Campbell will likely remain out for the rest of Sunday's contest to avoid aggravating the injury.

  • Dolphins' Elijah Campbell: Re-ups with Miami

Campbell is slated to re-sign with the Dolphins on a one-year, $1.9 million contract, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Campbell has been a solid special-teams contributor for Miami over the last two seasons while also holding down a depth gig on defense. His role could conceivably grow in 2025, with Jevon Holland moving on to the Giants and Jordan Poyer in line to hit free agency.

  • Dolphins' Elijah Campbell: Remains with Dolphins

Campbell signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins on Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Campbell has been a strong producer on special teams across the last two seasons in Miami, tallying 289 and 301 snaps, respectively. He's unlikely to play much of a role on defense, however, and he's never recorded more than 15 tackles in a single campaign.

  • Dolphins' Elijah Campbell: Will start versus New York

Campbell will start at safety alongside Brandon Jones for Sunday's game against the Jets, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports. The adjustment comes with both Jevon Holland (knee-MCL) and DeShon Elliott (concussion) inactive for Sunday's game. Campbell has spent most of his time on the field on special teams this season and has nine tackles (six solo) in 11 appearances.

  • Dolphins' Elijah Campbell: Ruled out

Campbell (knee) will miss Sunday's contest against the Chargers, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports. The 28-year-old was expected to miss some time as he's been dealing with a knee injury suffered in late August. Campbell appeared in 16 games for Miami last season, tallying 12 total tackles and playing primarily on special teams.

  • Dolphins' Elijah Campbell: Avoids IR

Campbell (knee) will start the 2023 season on the Dolphins' active roster, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports. Campbell was carted off the field in the Dolphins' preseason finale against the Jaguars on Saturday. It appears he has avoided any serious injury for the moment, otherwise he would have been placed on the team's injured reserve list. The severity of the injury is unknown.

The Dolphins tendered Campbell a contract Tuesday, Mike Masala of Dolphins Wire reports. Campbell is now in line to remain in Miami for a third consecutive year. • Dolphins' Elijah Campbell: Isn't playing Week 15

Campbell (concussion) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Bills, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Although Campbell upgraded to limited participation in Thursday's practice, he ultimately hasn't cleared all the necessary protocols since suffering a concussion in Week 14 against the Chargers. With fellow safety Eric Rowe (hamstring) also ruled out this weekend, Jevon Holland, Clayton Fejedelem and Verone McKinley will all likely handle additional secondary reps Saturday night in Buffalo.

  • Dolphins' Elijah Campbell: Receives ERFA tender

The Dolphins tendered Campbell (toe) a contract as an exclusive rights free agent Tuesday. Campbell appeared in seven games for Miami in 2021 and exclusively played special teams before landing on injured reserve in late November. The 26-year-old isn't able to negotiate with other teams as an ERFA, so it should only be a matter of time until he officially signs the tender.
