Titans' Carnell Tate: Nondescript day again in Week 2
Tate caught three of five targets for 27 yards in the Titans' 24-20 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
Tate's five targets paced the Titans, but eight different members of the team drew targets on a day Cam Ward attempted just 20 passes. It's become evident that Tennessee would prefer to hide Ward rather than highlight him, and therefore the offense is going to have a really tough time supporting any pass catchers as reliable fantasy starters. Tate has a measly seven catches for 65 scoreless yards on 11 targets through two career regular-season games. He won't be an exciting fantasy bet next Sunday against the Giants.

Titans' Carnell Tate: Four catches in NFL debut
Tate caught four of six targets for 38 yards in Sunday's 23-10 loss to the Jets.
Tate tied Wan'Dale Robinson for the team lead in receiving yards and targets, but Tennessee's entire passing game struggled as Cam Ward threw for a mere 140 yards. The Titans overhauled their wide receiver room by drafting Tate fourth overall out of Ohio State and signing Robinson to a four-year, $78 million contract in the offseason, but the results Sunday didn't look much different compared to the team that went 3-14 last season. Tate should continue to function as one of Ward's top targets in Week 2 against a stout Eagles secondary.

Titans' Carnell Tate: Off injury report
Tate (undisclosed) is off the injury report ahead of the Titans' season opener against the Jets, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
This is a great development for Tate after he dealt with an undisclosed issue late in preseason. Tate is now on track to make his NFL debut in Week 1, when he will be a focal point of the Titans' passing game.

Titans' Carnell Tate: Spotted at practice Wednesday
Tate (undisclosed) was in uniform and participating in drills during Wednesday's practice, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
The rookie had been dealing with some stiffness late in the preseason but seems to be trending in the right direction as the Titans' season-opener approaches. Official word on whether Tate was a full or limited participant will come after the Titans release their practice report later Wednesday afternoon.

Titans' Carnell Tate: Working through stiffness
Coach Robert Saleh said Tate (undisclosed) missed Tuesday's practice due to some "stiffness," Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
There's been no indication the first-round rookie wideout's status for Week 1 against the Jets is in any sort of danger. Tate played 38 offensive snaps during the preseason but failed to catch any of his six targets across the three exhibition contests. He's expected to serve as Cam Ward's top downfield weapon this season with slot man Wan'Dale Robinson (head) handling underneath routes, though Calvin Ridley is still in the mix at the position. There could be growing pains for Tate in 2026 in what is expected to be one of the lowest-scoring offenses in the league.

Titans' Carnell Tate: One target to close out preseason
Tate failed to bring in his only target in the Titans' 24-15 preseason loss to the Bears on Saturday.
The rookie fourth overall pick was targeted deep down the left side of the field by Will Levis during the Titans' opening possession, and that was the extent of his action in Saturday's finale. Tate finished the preseason without corralling any of the six targets he saw over three games, but he's still teed up to play a significant role in Tennessee's air attack beginning with a Week 1 home matchup against the Jets.

Titans' Carnell Tate: Goes without a catch again
Tate didn't catch either of his two targets in Sunday's 19-16 preseason win over the Seahawks.
Tate now has gone without a catch on five targets through two preseason games. It's too early to press the panic button for the rookie No. 4 overall pick, though it would have been nice for Tate to show some rapport with 2025 first overall pick Cam Ward. Tennessee's starters were outscored 16-3 in the first quarter by Seattle's backups, so Tate is far from the only Titans player underperforming this preseason. On the bright side, Tate showed that he's healthy Sunday after battling some stiffness in practice leading up to the game.
