Colts' Bryce Boettcher: Uncertain to return Sunday
Boettcher (groin) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars.
Boettcher missed Week 7 due to a groin issue and didn't practice at all this week. Despite his trio of DNPs, the Colts think he has at least a chance of being ready to play Sunday. Boettcher has logged 25 tackles (eight solo) through his first six NFL contests.

Colts' Bryce Boettcher: Inactive for Week 7
Boettcher (groin) is inactive against the Vikings on Sunday.
Boettcher strung together a DNP-FP-DNP practice log during Week 7 prep due to a groin injury, but he has not been cleared by medical staff to play Sunday. Germaine Pratt, Austin Ajiake and Tahj Chambers are all in line for more defensive snaps in the absence of Boettcher, whose next chance to play is Week 8 against the Jaguars on Nov. 1.

Colts' Bryce Boettcher: Scooped up by Indianapolis
The Colts selected Boettcher in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 135th overall.
Boettcher's athleticism doesn't jump off the page, and he's a little undersized at 6-foot-1, 233 pounds. However, he has the speed to get to ball carriers and proved to have a nose for the football with Oregon, racking up 132 tackles and 1.0 sacks as a senior, adding five pass deflections and an interception to his resume. He'll join a revamped Colts linebacker room that added Akeem Davis-Gaither and John Bullock in the 2026 calendar year via free agency (Davis-Gaither) and waiver claim (Bullock) and CJ Allen as a second-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Boettcher likely faces an uphill battle to see regular playing time as a rookie and will presumably be asked to contribute on special teams, but he'll get a chance to prove his worth in camp.
