Player Outlook
"He's really kind of the queen on the chessboard," general manager Andrew Berry said of Fannin's unique skill set. Truly unique, Fannin produced far beyond anything we've seen before from the TE position in 2024, and he did it in just his third year playing the position. He's one of the youngest prospects from the 2025 draft class, and he'll now go learn from Kevin Stefanski and share a TE room with David Njoku. New offensive coordinator Tommy Rees is a former tight ends coach and featured the position during his time calling plays at Notre Dame. This feels like a dream developmental landing spot for Fannin, and he may come into play as the "queen piece" as a rookie. Of course, no offense is projected for fewer points scored than the Browns, according to early betting odds, so Fannin's rookie season statistical expectations probably should be held in check. He is not worth drafting outside of the deepest leagues.

  • Browns' Harold Fannin: Hauls in TD in preseason finale

Fannin caught both his targets for 16 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 19-17 preseason win over the Rams. The 2025 third-round pick saw work with the Browns' starters, and his TD came on a 15-yard toss from Joe Flacco midway through the first quarter. David Njoku remains at the top of the tight end depth chart, but Fannin has drawn rave reviews in training camp and could see more action than expected in two-TE sets, providing Flacco with another potentially dynamic receiving option.

  • Browns' Harold Fannin: Stock up in joint practices

Fannin was cited as a riser at this week's joint practices with Philadelphia, per Zac Jackson of The Athletic. Fannin dropped a potential touchdown pass from quarterback Joe Flacco early in Thursday's session, but the rookie tight end responded by catching the next one thrown his way and later scored on a deep corner route. While head coach Kevin Stefanski hasn't directly said it, Jackson believes Fannin is ahead of schedule. He could line up all over the formation and will be involved in the offense, per Jackson, as the second tight end behind David Njoku.
