Dolphins' Kaytron Allen: Limited to special-teams work in Miami debut
Allen logged six snaps on special teams and didn't show up on the box score otherwise during Sunday's 28-25 win over the Jets.
Allen -- who was claimed off waivers by the Dolphins one day after being let go by the Commanders on Oct. 8 -- was cleared to make his debut with his new team Sunday. He was limited to work on special teams, but he could carve himself a role on offense as he gets more familiar with the playbook. Jaylen Wright left Sunday's game and did not return due to a quadriceps, and if he cannot play against the Raiders in Week 8, then Allen would step into the RB2 role behind Ollie Gordon.

Dolphins' Kaytron Allen: Debuting for Miami in Week 7
Allen is active for Sunday's game against the Jets.
Allen was a sixth-round selection of the Commanders in the 2026 NFL Draft, but he was waived by the team Oct. 8. He was claimed off waivers by the Dolphins one day later, and the Penn State product will suit up for his new team for the first time Sunday, when he'll operate as the RB3 behind Ollie Gordon and Jaylen Wright.

Dolphins' Kaytron Allen: Healthy inactive in Week 5
Allen (coach's decision) is listed as a healthy inactive for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Allen was claimed by Miami off the waivers Friday and will be unavailable for the team in Week 5. Ollie Gordon and Jaylen Wright (foot) are expected to lead the Dolphins' backfield.

Dolphins' Kaytron Allen: Claimed by Dolphins
Allen was claimed off waivers by the Dolphins on Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Allen was waived by the Commanders on Thursday, and he was scooped up by a new team a day later. Washington simply accumulated too many running backs to keep the rookie sixth-rounder around, but that will be less of an issue at his new stop, as Ollie Gordon and Jaylen Wright (foot) are the only other running backs on the roster with De'Von Achane (knee) on IR.

Kaytron Allen: Waived by Washington
Allen was waived by the Commanders on Thursday.
The Commanders are parting ways with Allen after the rookie sixth-round pick rushed 12 times for 41 yards across the first four regular-season games of his NFL career. Washington will roll with Jacory Croskey-Merritt (groin), Rachaad White (shoulder) and the recently signed Austin Ekeler in the backfield, while the rest of the league will have 24 hours to put in a claim on Allen before he becomes a free agent.

Commanders' Kaytron Allen: Held to one yard on three carries
Allen turned three carries into one yard during the Commanders' 30-13 loss to the Colts on Sunday in London.
Allen's first carry came early in the first quarter, but the rookie sixth-rounder didn't touch the ball again until the last five minutes of the fourth period. Even with Rachaad White (shoulder) inactive, Allen was on the field for only 12 of the Commanders' 64 offensive snaps (18.8 percent), which was behind both Jacory Croskey-Merritt (29) and recent addition Austin Ekeler (17). White is expected to return to practice ahead of the Commanders' Week 5 game against the Giants, and if he's cleared to return, then Allen would seemingly move down to the RB4 spot on the roster behind Croskey-Merritt, White and Ekeler.

Commanders' Kaytron Allen: Limited to special teams in Week 3
Allen played 15 snaps on special teams and didn't show up in the box score otherwise during the Commanders' 33-31 win over the Seahawks on Sunday.
After being limited mostly to garbage time through the first two games of the regular season, the rookie sixth-rounder didn't see the field on offense against Seattle. Allen saw a heavy workload during the preseason, but he figures to be an afterthought in the Commanders' offensive gameplan unless one of Jacory Croskey-Merritt or Rachaad White were to miss time. The Commanders head to London for a Week 4 tilt against the Colts this Sunday.

Commanders' Kaytron Allen: Has five carries in garbage time
Allen logged five carries for 24 yards in the last 3:01 of Sunday's 37-20 loss to the Cowboys.
Allen saw just six offensive snaps in Sunday's game, all in garbage time. The game was well out of reach by the time Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Rachaad White left the field, leaving the sixth-round rookie to gain more NFL experience.

Commanders' Kaytron Allen: Limited action in NFL debut
Allen turned four carries into 16 yards during the Commanders' 24-22 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.
Allen didn't record his first NFL carry until the third quarter, though he did log three rushes for 11 yards during the Commanders' final offensive drive of the game. The rookie sixth-rounder played only seven snaps on offense, well behind fellow running backs Jacory Croskey-Merritt (34) and Rachaad White (29). Allen figures to see limited work out of the Commanders backfield this season unless one or both of Croskey-Merritt and White were to miss time. Washington has another NFC East matchup on tap, a Week 2 road tilt against Dallas on Sept. 20.

Commanders' Kaytron Allen: Poor showing in preseason finale
Allen carried the ball three times for four yards and lost a fumble in Friday's 41-3 preseason loss to the Ravens. He added nine yards on one kickoff return.
With the Commanders resting all their key personnel in the team's final exhibition contest, Allen got the start in the backfield but coughed up the ball on his first touch, setting the Ravens up for their first TD of the night. The 2026 sixth-round pick is expected to begin the regular season as the third back on the depth chart behind Jacory Croskey-Merritt (lower body) and Rachaad White (hamstring), but if the injuries to either RB linger into Week 1, Allen could see a bigger workload than expected in his NFL debut.

Commanders' Kaytron Allen: Most carries in loss
Allen rushed 10 times for 30 yards in Saturday's 17-13 preseason loss to the Lions.
Allen once again saw the largest rushing workload for the Commanders, though his 10 rushes are significantly less than last Friday's 23. The running back also saw a target in the pass game, catching the ball even though it did not result in positive yardage. It appears Allen is continuing to prep for a tertiary rushing role in the 2026 campaign behind Jacory Croskey-Merritt (undisclosed) and Rachaad White (hamstring).

Commanders' Kaytron Allen: Sees heavy workload in win
Allen rushed 23 times for 85 yards and a touchdown and brought in one of two targets for one yard in the Commanders' 20-7 preseason win over the Dolphins on Friday.
The rookie sixth-round pick improved his rushing numbers over the prior season in each of his last three years at Penn State, and Allen is now trying to nail down the No. 3 job in a veteran running back room. Going by the amount of playing time he saw Friday, it's clear the coaching staff is intrigued with his potential. Allen's first chance to build on his game-high rushing yardage total and one-yard touchdown run comes in a road preseason matchup against the Lions on Saturday, Aug. 22.
