Kaden Davis: Joining Chicago's practice squad
The Bears signed Davis to their practice squad Monday.
Chicago waived Davis on Sunday, but after clearing waivers, he's now back with the club as a member of the practice squad. The Bears' initial 53-man roster is thin in numbers at wide receiver, and Davis could feasibly get called up to contribute as a returner at some point during the regular season as well.

Bears' Kaden Davis: Lands one-year deal with Bears
Chicago signed Davis to a one-year contract on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Davis went undrafted out of Northwest Missouri State in 2022 and has spent time with the Broncos, Cardinals, Lions, and Browns in his NFL career, though all three of his regular-season appearances have come with Cleveland. The wide receiver and return specialist has also spent time in the UFL. Davis will compete for a role on special teams with the Bears.

Davis has already appeared in two regular-season contests with the Browns this year, totaling one offensive snap and 23 on special teams. He was cut from the active roster Tuesday but now resurfaces on the practice squad as a candidate for elevation.

Browns' Kaden Davis: Signed to active roster
Cleveland signed Davis to the active roster from the practice squad Wednesday, the Browns' official site reports.
The Browns are dipping into to the practice squad for Davis to provide insurance at wide receiver. Both Isaiah Bond (foot) and Cedric Tillman (glute) were limited at practice Wednesday as the team prepares for the Ravens in Week 11. In addition to the two injured wideouts, tight end Harold Fannin (hamstring) was a limited participant. Davis has appeared in one game for Cleveland this season.

Kaden Davis: Reverts to practice squad
Davis reverted to the Browns' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Davis played 14 snaps on special teams and returned one kick for 28 yards during the Browns' 13-10 win over the Packers on Sunday. It was the first time he was elevated from the practice squad, and he can be called up twice more before the Browns would be required to sign him to the active roster in order for him to play again this season with Cleveland.

Browns' Kaden Davis: Works in return game
Davis did not play on offense and returned one kickoff for 28 yards in Sunday's 13-10 win over Green Bay.
Davis was called up from the practice squad for the day, giving the offense a sixth wideout, but he was one of two receivers who didn't get on the field with the offense. He may have been added so that the Browns wouldn't feel the need to expose Jerome Ford or Isaiah Bond on special teams.

Browns' Kaden Davis: Called up from practice squad
The Browns have elevated Davis from their practice squad for Sunday's matchup versus the Packers.
Davis will make his season debut with the team after having joined its practice squad back in August. He will likely serve as a depth receiver and could see playing time on special teams as well.

Kaden Davis: Stays with Browns on practice squad

As expected, Davis remains with the Browns organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. He could earn a promotion to the roster at some point if Cleveland needs reinforcements at wide receiver or in the return game on special teams.

Kaden Davis: Can't secure roster spot
The Browns are waiving Davis on Tuesday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Davis put together a strong preseason in Cleveland and is expected to resurface on the team's practice squad if he clears waivers. A 2022 UDFA, Davis' regular-season debut came in Week 18 with the Browns last season, a game in which he wasn't targeted but impressed on special teams by racking up 107 yards as a kick returner.

Browns' Kaden Davis: Hauls in two preseason TDs
Davis caught all three of his targets for 23 yards and two touchdowns in Friday's 30-10 preseason win over the Panthers. He also lost two yards on his only carry and added 31 return yards.
An undrafted free agent back in 2022, Davis made his NFL debut last season in Week 18 with the Browns and made a positive impression on special teams with 107 return yards. The 26-year-old did more than that Friday, rising to the occasion as a red-zone target for Shedeur Sanders and hauling in TDs of seven and 12 yards in the second quarter. Davis is still likely on the outside looking in for a Week 1 roster spot, especially with DeAndre Carter on the squad, but if he keeps stacking strong performances, he could make the veteran return man expendable.
