Colts' Buddy Johnson: Signed by Indianapolis
Johnson was signed off the Cowboys' practice squad by the Colts on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Johnson will head to Indianapolis after spending the first few weeks of the season with Dallas, failing to record any stats while playing 18 snaps on special teams in Week 1. The 26-year-old has compiled 14 total tackles (six solo) over 21 games in his five-year NFL career, and he'll provide the Colts with an additional depth option behind Zaire Franklin at middle linebacker.

Buddy Johnson: Gets tryout with Cleveland
Johnson (undisclosed) worked out with the Browns on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The 24-year-old linebacker was waived from injured reserve by Chicago last week, and it seems as if he's moved past whatever issue he was dealing with. Johnson hasn't played in an NFL game since 2021, when he appeared in four contests for the Steelers and recorded two total tackles.

Buddy Johnson: Becomes free agent
Johnson (undisclosed) was waived from injured reserve by the Bears on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Johnson was set to miss the entirety of the 2023 campaign after he was placed on injured reserve Aug. 18. However, as long as he can prove himself healthy, he'll now be free to sign with any team and play again this season.

Johnson was waived/injured by the Bears on Thursday with an undisclosed injury, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The Bears did not specify what type of injury Johnson is dealing with. If he goes unclaimed off waivers, he will subsequently revert to Chicago's injured reserve and potentially miss the entire season unless he and the team can ultimately come to terms on an injury settlement once his health is back up to par.

Johnson was a fourth-round pick by the Steelers in the 2021 Draft but appeared in just four games as a rookie and was among Pittsburgh's final cuts last summer. He spent parts of 2022 on the practice squads of the 49ers and Texans.
