  • Jets' Micheal Clemons: Career year in 2024

Clemons tallied 34 total tackles, including 4.5 sacks, and one forced fumble over 17 games in 2024. The third-year pro from Texas A&M started all 17 of the Jets' games this season and set a new career high in sacks, solidifying himself as one of New York's best edge rushers. Clemons began to see less defensive work once Haason Reddick returned from his contract dispute in Week 8, but he still logged a career-high 581 defensive snaps played this season. Heading into the final season of his rookie deal in 2025, Clemons has accumulated 97 total tackles, including 7.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles across 49 games with the Jets over the past three years.

  • Jets' Micheal Clemons: Gets another sack

Clemons recorded two tackles (two solo), including 1.0 sacks, during Sunday's 23-17 loss against the Vikings. Clemons' sack in Week 5 brought his season total up to 2.5, which already ties the career high he set back in 2022. With Jermaine Johnson (Achilles) on injured reserve and Haason Reddick still missing time due to a contract dispute, Clemons' starting role doesn't appear to be going anywhere anytime soon.

  • Jets' Micheal Clemons: Officially questionable for Sunday

Clemons (triceps) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Titans, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Head coach Robert Saleh told reporters earlier Friday that Clemons will suit up for Sunday's affair, but the team's injury report released later that day lists him as questionable. If the 27-year-old is unable to go in Week 2, expect Takkarist McKinley and 2023 first-round pick Will McDonald to see increased work on the Jets' defensive line.

  • Jets' Micheal Clemons: Gets downgraded

Clemons (triceps) was a limited participant during practice Thursday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports. Clemons was a full participant Wednesday, so he may have suffered the injury during practice. A late-week downgrade usually doesn't bode well for a player's chances of suiting up on game day, but considering Clemons was at least able to practice in a limited fashion, it might not be all bad for the 27-year-old. If he is unable to suit up, the Jets may have to lean on Takkarist McKinley and Will McDonald more to help generate a pass rush against the Titans.

  • Jets' Micheal Clemons: Isn't playing Sunday

Clemons (knee/illness) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bills. Clemons is now slated to miss his first game of the 2022-23 campaign due to a combination of an illness and a knee issue. In his absence, Jermaine Johnson and Bryce Huff could see added defensive line snaps behind usual starters John Franklin-Myers and Carl Lawson.

  • Jets' Micheal Clemons: Questionable to return Sunday

Clemons (knee) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Vikings. Clemons collected one tackle before departing Sunday's matchup in Minnesota with an apparent knee injury. If the 25-year-old is unable to return for the remainder of the afternoon, John Franklin-Myers, Carl Lawson and Jermaine Johnson could receive an uptick in usage for the time being.

  • Jets' Micheal Clemons: Big Apple bound

The Jets selected Clemons in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 117th overall. Clemons will be 25 years old by the time Week 1 kicks off, as he spent two years at community college before a five-year stint with Texas A&M. He was productive over his final two seasons with 46 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss and 11 sacks. As a former linebacker and running back, Clemons is still developing his edge skills and and may take time to fill into an NFL role.
