McDuffie finished last Thursday's 27-19 win over Carolina with 10 tackles (three solo).
McDuffie tied with Evan Williams for the team lead in tackles. He played every one of the Packers' defensive snaps for the second straight game in the absence of Zaire Franklin (shin). McDuffie has tallied 21 tackles in the pair of contests, so he's looking like a strong IDP option, at least for as long as Franklin remains sidelined.

Packers' Isaiah McDuffie: Steps up in Franklin's absence
McDuffie logged 11 tackles (six solo), one fumble and one fumble recovery during the Packers' 20-17 loss to the Lions on Sunday.
McDuffie was operating in an elevated role defensively due to the absence of veteran linebacker Zaire Franklin (shin). McDuffie answered the call by playing every single defensive snap while leading the Packers in tackles. He was credited with forcing the ball out of Jahmyr Gibbs' hands late in the second quarter, although it appeared as though it was the hand of Lions center Cade Mays that caused the fumble. However, McDuffie did land on the loose ball caused by a botched snap from Mays to Jared Goff early in the third, which the Packers' offense capitalized on with a five-play drive that ended with a 25-yard touchdown pass from Jordan Love to Josh Jacobs. Franklin was diagnosed with a hairline fracture in his shin, so McDuffie figures to be remain a starter on defense in the short term, with the Packers hosting the Panthers on Thursday.

Packers' Isaiah McDuffie: Inks one-year extension
McDuffie agreed to a one-year extension with the Packers on Thursday, Zach Jacobson of 247Sports.com reports.
McDuffie inked a two-year, $8.0 million contract extension in March 2025, so this new deal will tie him to Green Bay through the 2027 campaign. The soon-to-be 27-year-old has been an important rotational linebacker and core special-teams player over his first five seasons, and he tallied 92 tackles, including 1.0 sacks, across 17 regular-season games last year. McDuffie should slot in behind returning starter Edgerrin Cooper and new addition Zaire Franklin at inside linebacker for Green Bay this year.

McDuffie worked as a rotational linebacker, with Quay Walker and Edgerrin Cooper working on an every-down basis. Though McDuffie lost snaps compared to his 2024 campaign, he remained very productive on a per-snap basis. He'll enter 2026 in the final year of a two-year contract, and he could be asked to step into a larger role if Walker departs in free agency.

McDuffie led the Packers in tackles Thanksgiving Day, and he has reached the double-digit tackling mark in two of his last three games. His increased production of late has been due to the absence of Quay Walker (neck), but the former's snap count on defense would likely dip in Week 14 against the Bears if the latter is cleared to return. In the eight games since the Packers' Week 5 bye, McDuffie has accumulated 51 tackles (23 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one interception.
