  • Giants' Younghoe Koo: No FGAs in defeat

Koo did not attempt a field goal and went 2-for-3 on PATs in Sunday's 27-20 loss to Green Bay. Koo went without a field-goal try in his second start with the Giants, and he did miss an extra-point attempt for the first time in three games this season. The kicker has now gone 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts while making four of five PATs over two contests with New York. With Graham Gano (neck) done for the year, Koo has a straightforward path to consistent work for the remainder of the season.

  • Giants' Younghoe Koo: Signed to active roster

The Giants signed Koo from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports. Making his first appearance since the Falcons released him after Week 1 this past Sunday in Chicago, Koo made both field-goal attempts and both point-after tries in place of Graham Gano, who was diagnosed with a herniated disc in his neck. New York placed Gano on injured reserve Wednesday, so Koo is lined up to be the team's primary placekicker for the foreseeable future. In addition to Koo, the Giants are still rostering kicker Jude McAtamney on the practice squad.

  • Giants' Younghoe Koo: Moved back to practice squad

The Giants reverted Koo to their practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. Koo was elevated for Sunday's Week 10 loss to Chicago and made both of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point tries. His elevation was a result of veteran kicker Graham Gano missing the game due to a neck injury. Koo will likely be the Giants' kicker again Sunday versus Green Bay if Gano isn't ready to return to action.

  • Giants' Younghoe Koo: Bumps up from practice squad

The Giants elevated Koo from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Once Graham Gano was ruled out ahead of Sunday's game at Chicago, Koo was expected to fill in for him, but a transaction needed to be made to get him on the active roster. Koo thus will be making his first appearance since he missed a potential game-winning field goal in Week 1 and promptly was jettisoned by the Falcons. For his career, Koo has connected on 181 of 211 FGAs (85.8 percent) in 93 regular-season games.

  • Giants' Younghoe Koo: Kicking for Giants in Week 10

Koo will kick for the Giants against the Bears on Sunday in the absence of Graham Gano (neck), Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports. Koo will be elevated from the practice squad prior to Sunday's game. He was released by the Falcons after missing one of his three field-goal attempts in Week 1. Koo has a career field-goal percentage of 85.8 percent, but he converted at a 73.5 percent rate in 2024.

  • Younghoe Koo: Competing for starting role

Koo will compete with Jude McAtamney for the Giants' top place kicker spot ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Chargers, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports. Though head coach Brian Daboll hasn't officially ruled out Graham Gano (groin) in Week 4, Gano is expected to be placed on injured reserve in the coming days. Thus, Koo will have the opportunity to compete for New York's top kicker position after being released by the Falcons on Sept. 19. The Georgia Southern product converted on 25 of his 34 field-goal tries and all 26 of his extra-point attempts in 2024 with Atlanta.

  • Younghoe Koo: Signed to Giants' practice squad

The Giants signed Koo to the practice squad Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Koo was released by the Falcons on Friday after going 2-for-3 in Week 1 against the Buccaneers before not playing Week 2 against the Vikings. He'll get another opportunity with the Giants and could be elevated to the active roster for Sunday's game against the Chargers if Graham Gano (groin) is unable to play.

  • Younghoe Koo: Cut loose by Atlanta

The Falcons released Koo on Friday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. After opening his career with a 3-for-6 showing on field-goal attempts in a four-game stint with the Chargers in 2017, Koo resurfaced with the Falcons in 2019 and had been the team's trusted kicker in the meantime until Week 1 of this season, when he missed a potential game-winning 44-yarder against the Buccaneers. Atlanta then signed Parker Romo to the practice squad and elevated him ahead of this past Sunday's game at Minnesota, while Koo didn't travel with the team. Romo connected on all five FGAs and his only point-after try Week 2, and the performance was enough for the Falcons to decide to move on from Koo and roll with Romo moving forward.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Won't play Sunday

Koo didn't travel with the team to Minnesota and won't play in Sunday's game versus the Vikings, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports. Parker Romo -- who was elevated from the practice squad Saturday -- will take over as the Falcons' kicker for at least one game, though it wouldn't be surprising if he permanently usurps Koo on the depth chart with a strong showing in Minnesota. Koo will end up ceding kicking duties to Romo in Week 2 after missing a 44-yard field-goal attempt late in the fourth quarter of last Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Buccaneers. His struggles date back to last season, when he connected on just 73.5 percent of his field-goal tries after hitting at least 86 percent in each of the previous five seasons.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Could face competition for job

Head coach Raheem Morris said Monday that the Falcons will work out some kickers this week after Koo missed a 44-yard field-goal attempt late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 23-20 loss to Tampa Bay, Josh Kendall of The Athletic reports. "You have to say [Koo is the kicker] right now, but we'll work out some veterans, we'll work out some up-and-comers," Morris said, highlighting Lenny Krieg, who is on Atlanta's practice squad, as a "developing prospect" for the team. One of the more reliable kickers in the league from 2019 through 2023, Koo converted a career-worst 73.5 percent of his field-goal attempts last season. In Week 1, Koo connected from 41 and 36 yards before pushing what would have been a game-tying field goal wide right at the end of regulation. Though Krieg is part of the organization as a member of the practice squad, the Falcons could bring aboard a veteran kicker with prior NFL experience to pose a more serious threat to potentially unseating Koo atop the depth chart heading into Sunday's matchup with the Vikings.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Misses crucial kick late

Koo went 2-for-3 on field-goal attempts and made both of his extra-point tries during the Falcons' 23-20 loss to the Buccaneers. Koo had no problem connecting on field goals from 41 and 36 yards in the second and third quarter, respectively. He had a chance to send Sunday's game to overtime, but his 44-yard field goal sailed wide right, allowing the Bucs to take a knee on the next play to seal the game. Koo is coming off a disappointing 2024 campaign in which he went just 25-for-34 (73.5 percent) on his field-goal attempts, including 6-for-9 on tries from 50-plus yards. He'll look to bounce back in Week 2 against the Vikings on Sunday, Sept. 14.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Healthy ahead of 2025

Koo (hip) was an active participant on the first day of Atlanta's OTAs on Tuesday, Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official website reports. Koo was back out on the practice field after missing the Falcons' last three contests of 2024 with a right hip injury. The veteran kicker made 25 of 34 field-goal attempts while making all 26 of his extra-point tries over 14 games last year. Koo's 74 percent field-goal percentage in 2024 was a career low, and he'll look to stay healthy and bounce back in 2025.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Headed for IR

The Falcons are expected to place Koo on injured reserve this week after he suffered an undisclosed injury in Monday's 15-9 win over the Raiders, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. The nature of Koo's injury likely won't be revealed until Atlanta releases its first Week 16 injury report later Wednesday, but his expected move to IR means that he'll miss the final three games of the regular season plus the wild-card round of the playoffs, should the Falcons clinch a spot in the postseason. With Koo set to go on IR, the Falcons plan to sign Riley Patterson off the Browns' practice squad to handle kicking duties. The 30-year-old Koo knocked down at least 86 percent of his field-goal tries in each of his first five seasons in Atlanta but has seen his efficiency take a hit in 2024, converting on only 25 of 34 attempts (73.5 percent).

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Bounces back with perfect showing

Koo made both field-goal attempts and his only extra-point try during Sunday's 42-21 loss to the Vikings. While Koo was perfect Sunday, both field-goal attempts were shorter than a PAT. The veteran kicker is on track for his worst field-goal percentage as a Falcon, but he's shown a slight improvement in recent weeks, going 8-for-9 on kicks over his last three appearances.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Kicker to Sit

The Vikings are No. 2 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing kickers, and Koo is struggling coming into Week 14. He's missed four field goals in his past three games, and he hasn't scored double digits in Fantasy points since Week 6. I would try to find another kicker instead of Koo in Week 14.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Struggles continue in Week 13

Koo made two of three field-goal attempts and his only extra-point try during Sunday's 17-13 loss to the Chargers. Koo missed his first kick wide right from 35 yards out before making his next three, including a 41-yard field goal in the third quarter. The veteran kicker has been playing through a hip issue, and it appears to be impacting his performance. He's gone 12-for-20 on field-goal tries over Atlanta's last eight games after making his first nine attempts. Koo finished with a field-goal percentage of 86 or higher in each of his first five seasons as a Falcon but has made only 72 percent of his field goals this season.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Good to go

Koo (hip) is active for Sunday's game against the Chargers. Despite drawing a questionable tag, Koo was expected to suit up Sunday after logging a full practice Friday. After going 2-for-7 on field-goal attempts from Weeks 7-10, Koo bounced back with a perfect outing against Denver in Week 11 before Atlanta's Week 12 bye. It's been a mixed bag for the veteran kicker this season, but the Falcons' improved offense has given Koo more opportunities than in previous seasons.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Provides team's only points Sunday

Koo made both of his two field-goal tries during Sunday's 38-6 loss at Denver. Atlanta was only able to muster 226 yards of total offense in Week 11, leaving little work for their kicker. Koo made good on his limited chances though, including hitting a 51-yarder late in the second quarter. He'll hope for more opportunities after the Falcons' bye in Week 12.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Zero field-goal attempts Week 9

Koo didn't attempt a field goal but made all three extra-point tries during Sunday's 27-21 win over the Cowboys. For the first time this season, Koo didn't attempt a field goal. He also lost out on a fourth extra-point try, as the Falcons went for two after a fourth-quarter touchdown, which put them up 27-13. After a perfect start to the season, Koo is 7-for-11 on field-goal attempts over the past five weeks, with all his misses coming from beyond 40 yards. His inconsistency from deep is concerning, but the Falcons' offense has been impressive, so Koo should get plenty of chances to bounce back.

  • Falcons' Younghoe Koo: Busy day ends with game-winner

Koo made both extra-point tries and all four field-goal attempts during Sunday's 26-24 win over the Saints. Coming into Sunday, Koo had attempted five field goals through three games, including only one attempt from beyond 40 yards. However, he was put to the test versus a division rival and rose to the occasion. Koo connected on four attempts beyond 40 on Sunday, including a career-high 58-yarder with two seconds left in the fourth quarter to give the Falcons the lead. Koo hasn't missed a kick this season and remains a strong play as long as Atlanta's offense can move the ball efficiently.
