  • Elijah Cooks: Fails to make 53-man roster

The Eagles waived Cooks on Monday, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Cooks signed a futures deal with the Eagles in February after spending most of the 2024 season on the Jaguars' practice squad. He missed the Eagles' second preseason game against the Browns on Aug. 16 due to a shoulder injury, but he returned for the preseason finale against the Jets on Friday, finishing with two catches (on six targets) for 14 yards. Cooks will likely clear waivers, at which point he'll have the chance to sign with a team in need of a wide receiver; however, he could remain in Philadelphia as a member of the practice squad.

  • Eagles' Elijah Cooks: Busy in return from injury

Cooks recorded two receptions on six targets for 14 yards in Friday's 19-17 preseason win over the Jets. Cooks suffered a shoulder injury in early August and missed the Eagles' second preseason game as a result. He returned to the field Friday and finished second on the team in targets while playing 36 offensive snaps. Cooks is unlikely to make the roster, but he could land on a practice squad.

  • Eagles' Elijah Cooks: Not practicing Saturday

Cooks is not participating in Saturday's training camp practice due to a shoulder injury, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Cooks suffered a shoulder injury during the Eagles' 34-27 preseason win over the Bengals on Thursday. He underwent an MRI, and while those results have not been made public, he will continue to sit out of practice until he recovers enough to return. Cooks inked a futures deal with the Eagles in February, so a prolonged absence will severely hurt his chances of making the 53-man roster at the end of training camp.

  • Eagles' Elijah Cooks: Getting MRI on shoulder

Cooks (shoulder) will have an MRI on Friday after getting hurt in Thursday's 34-27 preseason win over the Bengals, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Cooks was carted to the locker room after sustaining the shoulder injury Thursday. The results of the MRI will help determine Cooks' return timetable, but even a relatively short absence would decrease Cooks' already slim chances of making the 53-man roster.

  • Eagles' Elijah Cooks: Inks future deal with Philadelphia

The Eagles signed Cooks to a reserve/future contract Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Cooks signed with the Eagles' practice squad Jan. 14 after spending most of the 2024 season on the Jaguars' practice squad. The 26-year-old wideout will be on Philadelphia's 90-man roster for the start of the new league year, which gives him the opportunity to participate in OTAs, minicamp and training camp.

  • Elijah Cooks: Back with practice squad

Cooks reverted to the Jaguars' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log. Cooks didn't record any stats while playing seven snaps on offense and four snaps on special teams in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Texans. The wide receiver can be elevated one more time before Jacksonville would have to officially sign him to the active roster.

  • Jaguars' Elijah Cooks: Elevated for Week 9

Jacksonville elevated Cooks from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday. Cooks is in line to make his regular-season debut Sunday after spending half of the campaign on the practice squad. Cooks and Austin Trammell could see snaps on offensive against the Eagles on Sunday if Brian Thomas (chest) and/or Gabe Davis (shoulder) are unable to play. Cooks appeared in nine regular-season games for the Jaguars in 2023 and finished with three catches (on four targets) for 38 yards.

  • Jaguars' Elijah Cooks: No catches in finale

Cooks wasn't targeted against the Titans in Week 18 and finished the season with three catches for 38 yards in nine games. The rookie UDFA played in nine games but was only active in the passing game once, as all three of his catches came during Week 13 at Tampa Bay. Cooks is likely to fill a similar depth role with the Jaguars in 2024, assuming he retains his roster spot.

  • Jaguars' Elijah Cooks: Won't make debut

Cooks (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Colts. Cooks was able to make the roster as an undrafted free agent, but he'll stay on the sidelines for Week 1. His next opportunity to suit up will be Week 2 against the Chiefs.
