NFL Mock Trades: Terry McLaurin to the Patriots

Fantasy News

  • Patriots' K'Lavon Chaisson: Agrees to deal with New England

Chaisson signed a one-year, $5 million contract with the Patriots on Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Chaisson was signed by the Raiders in October after being released by the Panthers in early September, just before the start of the 2024 regular season. The 2020 first-round pick appeared in 15 regular-season games for Las Vegas last year and finished with career highs in combined tackles (32) and sacks (5.0) while logging his first interception in the NFL. Chaisson's addition bolsters the Patriots' pass rush and he is projected to serve in a rotation with Anfernee Jennings and Harold Landry.

  • Raiders' K'Lavon Chaisson: Tallies career-high 5.0 sacks

Chaisson racked up 32 tackles (19 solo), including 5.0 sacks, across 15 regular-season games with the Raiders in 2024. He also had two passes defensed, one interception and one forced fumble. Chaisson produced career-high numbers across the board for Las Vegas in 2024, while playing 479 defensive snaps, his largest workload since his rookie season with Jacksonville back in 2020. He's set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

  • Raiders' K'Lavon Chaisson: Logs sack in second straight week

Chaisson tallied three solo tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and one forced fumble during Sunday's 25-10 win over New Orleans. Chaisson logged his fifth sack of the season Sunday, when he took down Spencer Rattler for a nine-yard loss midway through the fourth quarter. Chaisson has logged 4.0 sacks over his last five games, which is tied for third most in the NFL in that span. Chaisson will look to finish the 2024 season on a strong note against the Chargers in Week 18.

  • Jaguars' K'Lavon Chaisson: Fifth-year option declined

The Jaguars elected to decline Chaisson's fifth-year option on his rookie contract Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Chaisson will now enter a contract year in his fourth season with the Jaguars and will have a chance to cash in during free agency next offseason if he performs well. The 23-year-old appeared in only nine games with Jacksonville in 2022 due to a knee injury, but he was able to produce 10 tackles, including a sack, over 213 snaps between defense and special teams.

  • Jaguars' K'Lavon Chaisson: Back from IR

Jacksonville activated Chaisson (knee) from its injured reserve list Saturday ahead of Sunday's game at Tennessee, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. After missing the Jaguars' last seven games with a knee injury he sustained in Week 5 versus Houston, Chaisson appears poised to return in Week 14. The 2020 first-rounder figures to fill a rotational role on the edge for the remainder of the season.

  • Jaguars' K'Lavon Chaisson: Designated to return from IR

Jacksonville designated Chaisson (knee) to return from injured reserve Wednesday. Chaisson has been on IR since Oct. 10 due to a meniscus injury, but with the move, Jacksonville has opened a 21-day window for him to be added to the active roster. However, if the third-year linebacker is not activated within that period, he'll revert to IR for the remainder of the campaign.

  • Jaguars' K'Lavon Chaisson: Out Week 4

The Jaguars have downgraded Chaisson (ankle) to out for Sunday's game against the Eagles, Demetrius Harvey of the team's official website reports. Chaisson's absence will leave the team thin for depth at outside linebacker. De'Shaan Dixon will be the primary backup available behind Josh Allen and No. 1 overall pick Travon Walker.

  • Jaguars' K'Lavon Chaisson: Primed for starting role

Chaisson (illness) registered a quarterback hit in 29 defensive snaps during Saturday's preseason loss to the Browns. The 2020 first-round pick missed June minicamp after testing positive for COVID-19, but he was ready for the start of training camp and is poised to start as an edge rusher for Jacksonville. Chaisson played in every game as a rookie last season but had a quiet campaign with 19 total tackles and one sack.

  • Jaguars' K'Lavon Chaisson: Absent from minicamp

Chaisson was not able to attend minicamp after testing positive for COVID-19, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports. Chaisson is expected to return to his role as a starting linebacker for the Jags in 2021, but he'll need to pass through the league's COVID protocols before joining the rest of his teammates in preparation for the upcoming campaign.

  • Jaguars' K'Lavon Chaisson: Set for starting role

Chaisson is listed as a starter for Sunday's game against the Texans, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports. Chaisson will make his first NFL start of his career Sunday, assuming the role for the inactive Josh Allen (knee). Chaisson has been decent through the first four games of his career, accumulating seven tackles (four solo) and one sack over that span.

  • Jaguars' K'Lavon Chaisson: Returns to practice

Chaisson (hamstring) is slated to participate in Thursday's practice, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports. Chaisson was limited to side work earlier this month due to a hamstring issue, but it looks as though he's already managed to return to full health. The rookie first-round pick should see plenty of chances to handle key snaps for Jacksonville's pass rush early in his career, provided he can remain on the field.

  • Jaguars' K'Lavon Chaisson: Heads to Jags

The Jaguars selected Chaisson in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, 20th overall. Jacksonville continues to bolster its defense, spending both of its first-round picks on that side of the ball. While the CJ Henderson selection helps replace the hole left by Jalen Ramsey, the Chaisson pick should help bolster the edge should Yannick Ngakoue get traded. Chaisson is a standout athlete and that's his selling point as a projectable edge rusher with tools. However, Chaisson did not have the production that's common among first-round edge rushers. He had just 6.5 sacks in his final season at LSU, but sacks don't always paint the full picture. If Chaisson pans out, he and Josh Allen should comprise a dangerous pass-rushing duo in Duval.
