Gadsden boasts NFL lineage, an impressive size/speed combination and more career receiving yards than Tyler Warren or Colston Loveland. What's the catch? Well, he's not really a tight end. Or, at least, he wasn't during his first 900+ receiving yard performance in 2022, lining up in-line for just 11% of his snaps. Gadsden came back with something to prove in 2024, though, playing in-line 44% of the time on his way to another 900+ yards. He must have done something right this offseason as he made splashes not only in minicamp but the early days of Chargers training camp, working with the first-team offense. He faces an uphill battle if the plan is to be an NFL tight end at 243 pounds, but the Chargers could aim to use him more like a receiver and potentially make him a small contributor. The best-case outcome for a player of this archetype is Darren Waller, but there are far more forgotten names. Keep Gadsden's name on your radar as Greg Roman and Jim Harbaugh love to utilize the TE position, but he's only worth taking a stab on late in dynasty and keeper leagues.

Chargers' Oronde Gadsden: Plays behind Dissly
Rotowire

Chargers' Oronde Gadsden: Joining Bolts as Round 5 pick
Rotowire
The Chargers selected Gadsden in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 165th overall.
Gadsden began his college career at Syracuse as a wide receiver before converting to a hybrid tight end. He missed most of the 2024 season due to injury but returned to form in 2024, racking up a career-best 73 receptions for 934 yards and seven touchdowns to claim First Team All-ACC honors. In a run-heavy Jim Harbaugh offense, the 6-foot-5, 241-pound Gadsden doesn't exactly fit the mold as a standout blocker at tight end, but he possesses intriguing receiving skills to split out and stretch the middle of the defense.
