Damon Bankston: Lands on Packers' PS
The Packers signed Bankston to the practice squad Wednesday.
Bankston was waived by the Giants on Aug. 29 but will now get another opportunity with the Packers, albeit as a member of the practice squad. The 23-year-old capped off his final collegiate season by amassing 635 yards and five touchdowns off 114 carries, adding 31 catches for 397 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games at New Mexico in 2025.

Damon Bankston: Jettisoned by Giants
The Giants waived Bankston on Saturday.
Since joining New York as an undrafted rookie in May, Bankston ended up ranking second on the team in rushing (73 yards on 21 carries) this preseason behind Eric Gray (90 yards). It wasn't enough for Bankston to land on the Giants' initial 53-man roster, but he will be a candidate to land on a team's practice squad if he clears waivers.

Giants' Damon Bankston: Signs with Giants
The Giants signed Bankston as an undrafted free agent Friday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.
Bankston had a career season during his lone college campaign with New Mexico in 2025. The running back finished with 114 rushes for 635 yards and five touchdowns and added 31 receptions for 397 yards and another three scores over 13 games. Bankston's 4.43-second 40-yard dash at New Mexico's pro day made him an alluring target for a Giants team looking for extra depth at running back. Cam Skattebo (ankle), Tyrone Tracy and Devin Singletary will likely consume the overwhelming majority of running back touches in 2026, leaving special teams as the likeliest path to playing time for Bankston if he latches on to a roster spot.
