Jets' Isaiah Davis: In Jets' backfield plans for 2026
Davis is set to reclaim a backup role behind Breece Hall in 2026, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Davis and Braelon Allen have had time to recover from the respective concussion and knee injury that sidelined them to close out the 2025 campaign. The pair of 2024 Day 3 draft picks remain the top backups on the roster behind recently extended starter Breece Hall. Davis has averaged an impressive 5.6 yards per carry on 73 rushing attempts over his first two NFL seasons.

Jets' Isaiah Davis: Moved to injured reserve
Davis (concussion) was placed on injured reserve Saturday.
Davis was already ruled out for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Bills while in the league's concussion protocol. With Breece Hall (knee) also ruled out, the Jets will go with three running backs on the active roster in Khalil Herbert, Kene Nwangwu and practice-squad member Raheem Blackshear. Davis will end the 2025 season with 43 carries for 236 yards and one touchdown along with 21 catches (on 28 targets) for 186 yards across 16 games.

Jets' Isaiah Davis: Ruled out for finale
Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said Friday that Davis (concussion) will not suit up for Sunday's season finale against the Bills.
Davis' absence will pave the way for Kene Nwangwu and Khalil Herbert to handle increased roles behind Breece Hall (knee, questionable) during Sunday's road divisional matchup. A 2024 fifth-round pick, Davis compiled 43 carries for 236 yards and one touchdown across 16 regular-season appearances, while also securing 21 of 28 targets for 186 yards and compiling 323 yards as a kick returner. New York's backfield will be interesting to monitor for the 2026 campaign, as Hall is an impending unrestricted free agent, while Davis and Braelon Allen (knee) both remain under contract through 2027.

After finishing as the Jets' leading rusher in the Week 15 loss to Jacksonville, Davis led the team in receiving yards against the Saints. Jets' Isaiah Davis: First TD of 2025 among nine carries
Davis rushed nine times for 58 yards and a touchdown while catching his only target for seven yards in Sunday's 48-20 loss to the Jaguars.
Breece Hall (12 carries for 23 yards) played below his usual standards, allowing Davis to take on a larger role. Davis set a season high for carries and made the most of his added opportunities, with a 24-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter marking the backup running back's first score of the season. As usual, Davis didn't get many opportunities behind Breece Hall, who turned 20 touches into 119 scrimmage yards. Hall lost a fumble near the goal line but led the team in both rushing and receiving yards, so Hall isn't in much danger of seeing his role reduced in Week 13 against the Falcons.
