Suamataia (concussion) is active for Sunday's game against the Colts, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports. He's been cleared of the protocol by an independent neurologist and will reclaim his starting job at left guard from Mike Caliendo.

  • Chiefs' Kingsley Suamataia: Questionable for Week 12

Suamatia (concussion) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Colts. Suamatia logged a full practice Friday after being limited Thursday. If Suamatia is unable to play versus Indianapolis, Mike Caliendo would be next up at left guard for Kansas City.

  • Chiefs' Kingsley Suamataia: Limited Thursday

Suamataia (concussion) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice. Suamataia is handling practice reps for the first time as he progresses through the concussion protocol. He'll need to gain full clearance, including from an independent neurologist, in order to be eligible to return to the starting lineup. If Suamataia can upgrade to full reps Friday, it will bode well for his chances of being cleared for Sunday's game against the Colts.

  • Chiefs' Kingsley Suamataia: Misses Wednesday's practice

Suamataia (concussion) won't practice Wednesday, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports. The second-year pro from BYU sustained a concussion in the Week 11 loss to the Broncos, so it's no surprise that he won't practice Wednesday. Suamataia must clear the NFL's five-step protocol in order to play in the Week 12 matchup against the Colts on Sunday.

Suamataia (concussion) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Broncos. Suamataia had to be helped off the field into the locker room during Sunday's game and has entered the league's concussion protocol. • Chiefs' Kingsley Suamataia: Possible concussion

  • Chiefs' Kingsley Suamataia: Links up with Super Bowl champs

The Chiefs selected Suamataia in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 63rd overall. The BYU product started full seasons at right and left tackle in Provo, showing versatility to be plugged in at either spot. Suamataia is regarded as a good athlete with the requisite size to stay at tackle in the NFL. The Chiefs have Jawaan Taylor and Wanya Morris as their starting tackles, and with Morris playing just 323 snaps last season, it's possible Brigham Young's Suamataia will compete for the starting job protecting Patrick Mahomes' blindside as early as this year.
