  • Giants' Thomas Fidone: Moved to IR

Fidone (foot) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official sitereports.

Fidone was ruled out for Week 12 on Friday due to what appears to be a nagging foot injury he's dealt with all season. The 23-year-old, who primarily contributes on special teams, will now be out for at least the next four games.

  • Giants' Thomas Fidone: Ruled out for Week 12

Fidone (foot) won't play Sunday against the Lions, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Fidone has dealt with a foot injury throughout the season. The special teams contributor's next chance to play will come Dec. 1 at New England.

  • Giants' Thomas Fidone: Ready for Sunday

Fidone (foot) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Bears, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

The rookie tight end from Nebraska upgraded from limited practice participation Thursday to a full-go Friday, suggesting he's moved past his foot injury in time to play Sunday. Now back at full health, expect Fidone to contribute primarily on special teams in Week 10.

  • Giants' Thomas Fidone: Limited Thursday

Fidone (foot) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Fidone appears to have picked up a foot injury during practice, so his activity level during Friday's session will be informative as to his chances of being able to play Sunday versus Chicago. During New York's loss to the 49ers in Week 9, Fidone played a season-high 19 percent of offensive snaps, though he has yet to draw a single target this year.

  • Giants' Thomas Fidone: Healthy scratch Week 1

Fidone (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's NFC East clash against the Commanders, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

The rookie seventh-rounder managed to crack the Giants' 53-man roster at the end of training camp. However, he'll have to wait at least one more week to make his NFL regular-season debut as the Giants roll with Daniel Bellinger and Chris Manhertz as the backup tight ends behind Theo Johnson for Week 1. Fidone's next chance to play is Week 2 against the Cowboys on Sunday, Sept. 14.

  • Giants' Thomas Fidone: Catches TD in preseason finale

Fidone caught four of five targets for 39 yards and a touchdown in a 42-10 preseason win against the Patriots on Thursday.

Fidone's touchdown came on a three-yard strike from Tommy DeVito in the third quarter. However, the tight end's most impressive play was arguably a 28-yard connection with DeVito early in the fourth quarter that finished just shy of the end zone, setting up a one-yard TD pass from DeVito to another tight end (Greg Dulcich). Fidone's performance capped a strong preseason three-game slate during which he caught eight of nine targets for 64 yards. While the Giants have a pretty crowded tight-end room, Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post projects Fidone to make the team's initial 53-man roster, potentially as New York's third option at the position behind Theo Johnson and Chris Manhertz in a scenario that includes Daniel Bellinger being moved via trade.

  • Giants' Thomas Fidone: Three catches versus Bills

Fidone (undisclosed) caught all three of his targets for 22 yards in Saturday's 34-25 preseason win over the Bills.

Fidone was hampered by an undisclosed injury throughout the week, but he was able to give it a go in the team's first preseason contest. The tight end is competing for a reserve role in 2025, and he'll look to build off of Saturday's performance moving forward.

  • Giants' Thomas Fidone: Misses practice Saturday

Fidone (undisclosed) didn't participate in the Giants' practice Saturday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Fidone is currently dealing with an undisclosed injury and it's unknown how long he'll be sidelined for. The 22-year-old was selected by New York in the seventh round of this year's draft and has been competing with Greg Dulcich and Chris Manhertz for the team's No. 3 tight end spot.

  • Giants' Thomas Fidone: Joining Big Blue

The Giants selected Fidone in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 219th overall.

Fidone started a pair of seasons at Nebraska and compiled 61 catches for 633 yards and four touchdowns over that time after missing 2021 and 2022 due to injuries. He posted solid numbers at the NFL Combine in February, and he's at his best working down the seam. Fidone is set to provide depth at tight end and will need to play special teams to claim a spot on the Giants' 53-man roster coming out of training camp.
