Few non-starters at the QB position offer the type of upside that Milroe has access to. Over the past two seasons, Anthony Richardson ranks as the QB4 in Fantasy points per dropback. Justin Fields ranks as QB7. Rushing is a Fantasy cheat code at the QB position, and Milroe's rushing profile is unique. His pairing with offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak in Seattle offers reason for optimism, too. Kubiak's scheme calls upon heavy use of play action and pre-snap motion, both of which boost pass-game efficiency. Milroe will likely require time to develop as a passer, but Kubiak may be able to design an abbreviated version of the offense that could work for the rookie QB if forced to. Lamar Jackson only averaged 159 passing yards in seven starts as a rookie, but he averaged over 18 Fantasy points. However, Milroe is not expected to play in 2025 after Seattle signed Sam Darnold and is not worth drafting in redraft Fantasy leagues.

Seahawks' Jalen Milroe: Throws first preseason touchdown
Rotowire
Milroe completed 13 of 24 passes for 148 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Saturday's 20-7 preseason loss to the Packers. He added seven rushes for 31 yards while also losing three fumbles.
Milroe was the only Seahawks quarterback to play, and there were plenty of positives and negatives to take away from his performance. He struggled against the Packers' better defensive personnel and managed to lead only one scoring drive that came early in the fourth quarter, while also taking five sacks and turning the ball over three times. More positively, Milroe displayed solid skills on Seattle's scoring drive, showing accuracy to all levels of the field -- including an 18-yard touchdown pass -- while also picking up 15 yards on a designed run. Milroe appears likely to open the season as Seattle's third quarterback.

Seahawks' Jalen Milroe: Set to play in preseason opener
Rotowire
Milroe and Drew Lock will split reps in Thursday's preseason game versus the Raiders, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Sam Darnold and the rest of the non-rookie starters are expected to sit out Thursday. A third-round pick in the 2025 Draft, Milroe is competing with Lock for the backup QB job, and offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is planning on an even split of reps Thursday. Furthermore, Kubiak is expected to design runs for Milroe, who gained 1,257 yards and 32 touchdowns on the ground through 26 games over his final two seasons at Alabama. While his legs offer intriguing fantasy upside, Thursday's game will provide Milroe with his first opportunity to showcase any improvements he's made to his accuracy as a passer, the primary knock on his college scouting report.
