  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Not expected to play Week 11

Coach Todd Bowles said Monday that he doesn't expect Irving (shoulder/foot) to play Week 11 against the Bills, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Bowles indicated that Irving's shoulder is what's holding him back right now, saying Monday that Irving has to be able to take a hit to the shoulder before he returns to game action. It sounds as if the Bucs again will lean on the tandem of Rachaad White and Sean Tucker next Sunday versus Buffalo's subpar run defense. Fantasy players need to plan for yet another Irving absence, and it would mark his sixth consecutive missed contest if he's ultimately unable to play against the Bills.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Status remains uncertain

Coach Todd Bowles said Monday that Irving's shoulder injury is what's keeping him sidelined, and he has to be able to take a hit before being cleared to return to game action, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports. It sounds like Irving may be past the foot issue, though the team has continued to list both injuries on weekly practice reports. Bowles added that it's too soon to know if Irving will be able to play Week 11 against the Bills. Irving has missed the past five contests after being injured Week 4. As long as Irving remains sidelined, Rachaad White and Sean Tucker will continue to handle backfield duties for Tampa Bay.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Ruled out for Sunday

Irving (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against New England, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports. A Week 9 bye didn't seem to do him much good, with Irving still absent from practice and now missing a fifth straight game. Rachaad White figures to get another start and plenty of touches, backed up by Sean Tucker and Josh Williams.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Not in line to practice

Irving (foot/shoulder) is not expected to participate in Wednesday's practice, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Irving evidently remains in the rehab phase of his recovery from foot and shoulder injuries that have kept him sidelined since Week 4 despite the fact that the Buccaneers are coming off a bye. If he's unable to gain clearance for Sunday's home matchup against the Patriots, Tampa Bay will proceed with a familiar backfield deployment that features Rachaad White and Sean Tucker as its lead options. Chris Godwin (lower leg) is also expected to miss Wednesday's practice.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Remains sidelined at practice

Irving (foot/shoulder) is not participating in the early portion of Wednesday's practice open to the media, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports. The Buccaneers are holding a walkthrough practice Wednesday, but it doesn't appear Irving is yet ready to resume handling on-field reps. He's missed three consecutive games due to lingering foot and shoulder injuries and has been held out of practice throughout that span. If Irving can get back on the field as at least a limited participant ahead of Sunday's road matchup against the Saints he could have a chance at returning to action, but it's worth noting that Tampa Bay will benefit from a Week 9 bye, meaning the team could be motivated to allow the second-year running back to rest further.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Won't play vs. Detroit

Irving (foot) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Lions, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The announcement doesn't come as much of a surprise, given that Irving has been held out of practice while working through foot and shoulder injuries. In his absence, Rachaad White will continue to operate as the Bucs' lead option out of the backfield while Sean Tucker serves in a reserve role. Irving's next opportunity to play is Week 8 against the Saints on Sunday, Oct. 26.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Continues to sit out practice

Irving (shoulder/foot) isn't participating in Thursday's practice, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles suggested earlier in the week that Irving wasn't on track to play this Monday against the Lions, and the running back's continued absence from practice due to a shoulder subluxation and a left foot sprain supports that sentiment. Assuming Irving is officially ruled out for the Week 7 contest following Saturday's practice, Rachaad White would be headed for a third consecutive turn as the Buccaneers' lead back Monday.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Officially ruled out for Week 5

Coach Todd Bowles officially ruled out Irving (foot/shoulder) for Sunday's game at Seattle, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports. Irving emerged from a Week 4 loss to the Eagles with a sprained right foot that forced him to don a walking boot and also crutches as a spectator at Wednesday's practice. Earlier Friday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reported that Irving was unlikely to play Week 5, which now has been confirmed. The Buccaneers thus will roll with the combination of Rachaad White and Sean Tucker out of the backfield this weekend and perhaps beyond that point.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: On track to sit out Week 5

Irving (foot/shoulder) is expected to sit out Sunday's game against the Seahawks and is also in danger of missing the Buccaneers' Week 6 contest versus the 49ers, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. On Wednesday, head coach Todd Bowles labeled Irving as day-to-day, even though the second-year back emerged from Week 4 action with a left foot sprain that confined him to a walking boot and required the aid of crutches to move about. Irving -- who is also nursing a more minor shoulder injury -- didn't practice in any fashion Wednesday or Thursday, and unless he's able to fit in some on-field work Friday, he'll likely be officially ruled out for Sunday's contest heading into the weekend. Rachaad White is likely poised to step in as the Buccaneers' lead back in Irving's absence, though Sean Tucker is also projected to see added work on the ground.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Dealing with sprained foot

Irving is dealing with a foot sprain that is not considered a long-term injury, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. That said, Schefter notes that Irving -- who was spotted at Wednesday's walk-through on crutches and in a walking boot -- is viewed as week-to-week ahead of Sunday's game against the Seahawks. If he's unable to play this weekend, Rachaad White and Sean Tucker would be in line to see expanded opportunities in the Buccaneers' Week 5 backfield.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Status up in air for Week 5

The Buccaneers are still gathering medical opinions on an apparent ankle and/or foot injury to Irving, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. The running back suffered a lower-leg injury in the team's 31-25 loss to the Eagles in Week 4, and he underwent an MRI on Monday. Irving hasn't been ruled out yet for Week 5, but he's still sore and his status is up in the air for the team's matchup with Seattle on Sunday. The Buccaneers will return to practice Wednesday, and the first injury report of the week will shed some light on where Irving is at physically.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Dealing with injury

Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said Monday that Irving is among the list of players who sustained an injury during Sunday's 31-25 loss to the Eagles, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Bowles implied that Irving is one of multiple players awaiting MRI results Monday, per Greg Auman of Fox Sports, but he declined to offer specifics about what sort of injury the second-year pro is dealing with. Irving enjoyed his most productive outing of the season Sunday, rushing 15 times for 63 yards and hauling in all five of his targets for 102 yards and a touchdown. The Buccaneers will wait and see if Irving is available on the road against Seattle in Week 5, though if he were to miss any time, both Rachaad White and Sean Tucker would stand to inherit increased backfield roles.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Exceeds 120 total yards in win

Irving rushed 17 times for 71 yards and brought in all six targets for 50 yards in the Buccaneers' 20-19 win over the Texans on Monday night. Backfield mate Rachaad White actually took the first touch of the night for the Buccaneers, but Irving went on to gain 16 yards on his first two carries later in the opening possession. The Texans were able to clamp down on Irving more consistently as the game unfolded, but the versatile second-year back helped make up for some inefficiency with his work as a receiver. Irving particularly came up big on Tampa Bay's game-winning drive, recording four of his catches for a total of 39 yards. White would go on to punch in the game-winning score, but Irving still outpaced him by seven carries and four targets. The duo should continue in a timeshare that clearly tilts in Irving's favor during a Week 3 home matchup against the Jets on Sunday afternoon.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Not suiting up Saturday

Irving isn't playing in Saturday's preseason opener versus the Titans, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports. Tampa Bay is opting to rest a number of healthy regulars, including Irving, Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans on offense. It's not yet clear if Irving or the others will participate in next Saturday's matchup against the Steelers. Rachaad White played Saturday but was ruled out due to a groin injury early, so Sean Tucker, Josh Williams and Owen Wright should each get work at running back throughout the remainder of the game.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Compiles 83 total yards in loss

Irving rushed 17 times for 77 yards and brought in both targets for six yards in the Buccaneers' 23-20 wild-card loss to the Commanders on Sunday night. Irving once again comfortably outpaced backfield mate Rachaad White, who logged just three total touches (one carry, two receptions). The rookie put together a solid performance that included his seventh tally of over 70 rushing yards in the last nine games. However, Irving was stuffed for a two-yard loss on a third-and-1 play at the Commanders' 12-yard line with 5:32 remaining, forcing the Buccaneers to settle for a field goal instead of extending the drive and possibly scoring a go-ahead touchdown. Irving's productive day came in the wake of a standout rookie season that exceeded expectations, during which he recorded 207 carries for 1,122 yards and eight touchdowns while adding a 47-392 receiving line on 52 targets across 17 games. Irving also turned the ball over just once (two fumbles total) and should head into his second season with a firm grasp on the No. 1 back role.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Strong day on ground in key win

Irving rushed 19 times for 89 yards and a touchdown and brought in two of five targets for minus-5 yards in the Buccaneers' 27-19 win over the Saints on Sunday. Irving once again led the Buccaneers' ground attack on an afternoon when Rachaad White did not log a single touch. The rookie looked good on several signature explosive runs, and he scored what turned out to be the game-winning touchdown on an 11-yard rush with just under two minutes remaining. Irving figures to continue spearheading Tampa Bay's ground attack as the postseason begins for the Bucs during Super Wild Card Weekend.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Good to go for Week 18

Irving (shoulder/shin) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Saints. Irving took 24 touches for 190 yards in last week's 48-14 win over the Panthers, despite not playing at all in the fourth quarter. He should be busy again with the Bucs needing a win to reach the playoffs (unless Atlanta loses to Carolina in a game that's taking place at the same time).

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Stays limited Thursday

Irving (shoulder/shin) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday. Irving followed up a capped walkthrough Wednesday with a similar amount of on-field work one day later. He hasn't been a stranger to injury reports in his rookie season due to a variety of health concerns, but Irving also hasn't missed a game for any reason. Friday's report will reveal whether or not he enters the weekend with a designation for Sunday's game versus the Saints.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: RBs to Start

Irving was excellent as the Start of the Week in Week 16 at Dallas with 16 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown and three catches for 24 yards on three targets. He scored 18.2 PPR points, and he's now scored at least 17.7 PPR points in four of his past six games, with only one game below 13.3 PPR points over that span. He faced the Panthers in Week 13 and had 25 carries for 152 yards and a touchdown and three catches for 33 yards on three targets, and Carolina is No. 1 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. Rachaad White is also worth using as a sleeper in this matchup, but Irving has top-10 upside in all leagues in Week 17.

  • Buccaneers' Bucky Irving: Another limited session

Irving (back/hip) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday. Irving maintained his activity level from Wednesday's session, giving him one more opportunity to get back to full participation before the Buccaneers potentially tag him with a designation for Sunday's contest at Dallas. In his last five outings in which he's earned at least a 40 percent snap share, he's averaged 19.0 touches for 124.2 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring three rushing TDs.
