Jaden Shirden: Cut by Carolina
The Panthers waived Shirden on Tuesday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
The undrafted rookie out of Monmouth was unable to crack the roster behind Chuba Hubbard and Miles Sanders despite rookie Jonathon Brooks (knee, NFI) being out for the first four games of the season. Shirden rushed 17 times for 47 yards (2.8 YPC) during the preseason, adding three catches for 42 additional yards.

Panthers' Jaden Shirden: Brought back by Carolina
The Panthers signed Shirden on Monday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.
The Monmouth product was waived by Carolina just eight days ago, but the team has now decided to bring Shirden back. Shirden likely has an outside chance of making the Panthers' 53-man roster, but he's expected to compete for a spot on the team's practice squad as the preseason continues. In a corresponding move, the Panthers waived former Washington running back Dillon Johnson.

Jaden Shirden: Waived by Carolina

The running back was let go to help make room for a trio of signings in defensive lineman Walter Palmore, offensive lineman Jack Anderson and wide receiver Tayvion Robinson. Shirden signed with the Panthers after going undrafted in April. During his final season at Monmouth University last year, Shirden ran for 1,478 yards and 10 touchdowns on 221 carries.

Jaden Shirden: Lands with Carolina
The Panthers are slated to sign Shirden as an undrafted free agent, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Shirden is on the small side at 5-foot-8 and 187 pounds but was named a first-team All-American in both of his final two seasons at Monmouth, rushing 427 times for 3,200 yards and 23 touchdowns in that span. He didn't do much in the pass game, catching just 25 career passes. Shirden is likely going to need to make an impression on special teams to stick in Carolina.
