Jets' Kobe King: Reverts to Jets' IR
King (undisclosed) reverted from waivers to the Jets' injured reserve list Wednesday, per the NFL's transaction log.
King wasn't claimed by another team after the Jets waived him Monday, so now he'll have to spend the entire 2026 campaign on IR unless he negotiates an injury settlement with the team. For now, his absence could free up more reps at linebacker for rookie undrafted free agents Jaden Keller and Chase Wilson.

Kobe King: Let go by Jets
King (undisclosed) was waived/injured by the Jets on Monday, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
The linebacker will revert to injured reserve unless he's claimed by another team, at which point he would need to reach an injury settlement with New York to have a chance to play in 2026. King was drafted in the sixth round by the Vikings in 2025 but was claimed off waivers by the Jets in October, appearing in 14 combined regular-season games with the two teams and playing mostly on special teams.

Jets' Kobe King: Gets claimed by Gang Green
The Jets claimed King from waivers on Friday, Susanna Welr of the team's official site reports.
King appeared in five games for the Vikings after they selected him in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but they opted to move on from him mid-season, and now he's getting a second chance with the Jets. He's played 77 special teams snaps compared to just three defensive snaps so far this season.

Vikings' Kobe King: Headed to Twin Cities
The Vikings selected King in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 201st overall.
King served as a starter for his final two seasons at Penn State and played a ton in 2024, racking up 97 tackles, 8.5 TFLs and 3.0 sacks over 16 games, landing him on the Second Team All-Big Ten. He's not the most athletic linebacker on the board, but he plays downhill and isn't afraid of contact, evidenced by his tackle totals in his final year in Happy Valley. He's a better run defender than in coverage and will serve as a depth linebacker, and he'll likely be expected to contribute on special teams.
