Player Outlook
Brown finished 2024 with 11.5 Fantasy points per game -- good for ninth-most among WRs in standard scoring. He scored the 12th-most PPR points per game as his targets per game fell to just 7.5 per game -- 27th-most among WRs. Brown finished with just seven touchdowns (20th-most) as the offense skewed more heavily to the run game with Saquon Barkley. Brown kept his Fantasy season afloat with efficiency, averaging 16.1 yards per reception (fourth-best in the NFL). The Eagles' offensive line, run game, and defense are all expected to resume dominance and possibly take a step forward, which could make volume an issue for Brown again in 2025. Things will get further complicated if Dallas Goedert and DeVonta Smith stay on the field. Brown comes off the board in the middle of Round 2 and typically a bit higher in PPR formats.

Fantasy News

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Running routes pre-game

Brown (hamstring) went through a pregame workout Friday, John Clark of NBC Philadelphia reports. Brown has been managing a hamstring injury since the first week of August, with no indication so far that it's considered a threat to his Week 1 availability. Fantasy managers will feel much better if he returns to full practice participation soon, but Friday's video of the pregame workout suggests Brown's hamstring is feeling much better, running routes and catching passes at close to full speed.

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Could practice next week

Brown (hamstring) is not participating in Tuesday's practice, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports. The star wideout is sitting out another practice, though offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo said when the training staff "is ready to cut him loose, he'll be cut loose," which could occur next week. Brown managed to get in two limited practices to begin last week, and the Eagles simply seem to be taking a cautious approach to his recovery. There doesn't seem to be any concern about his availability for Week 1, but expect him to sit out Friday's preseason finale against the Jets.

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Sitting out Monday's practice

Brown (hamstring) is not practicing Monday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Brown got in a handful of limited practices last week, but he's now been listed as a DNP since last Wednesday. The Eagles seem to simply be taking a cautious approach to the star wide receiver's recovery, and he doesn't seem to be in consideration for the team's preseason finale against the Jets on Friday. At this stage, though, Philadelphia hasn't indicated any signs of concern about Brown's availability for Week 1 against the Cowboys on Thursday, Sept. 4.

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Not practicing Wednesday

Brown (hamstring) isn't in uniform for Wednesday's joint practice with the Browns, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Brown returned Sunday after missing a week, but he still hasn't been a full participant, making him highly unlikely to play in Saturday's preseason game even if the Eagles use other starters against the Browns. There doesn't seem to be any concern about Brown's Week 1 availability at this point.

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Another limited practice

Brown (hamstring) will be a limited practice participant Tuesday, Tim McManus of ESPN.com reports. Brown returned to practice Sunday after missing a week of training camp. He isn't back to full participation yet and may not play in the preseason, but his quick return to practice -- even in a limited capacity -- suggests the Eagles aren't worried about his hamstring injury.

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Returns to practice Sunday

Brown (hamstring) returned to practice Sunday, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports. It remains to be seen whether Brown's able to participate without limitations, but this nonetheless marks a step in the right direction as he works his way back from a hamstring injury that had sidelined him for the past week. The Eagles have little reason to rush Brown's recovery process, and there have been no indications that his availability for the Thursday, Sept. 4 regular-season opener against the Cowboys is in any danger.

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Still not practicing

Brown (hamstring) will not participate in Saturday's training camp practice, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports. Brown continues to work through a hamstring injury, which caused him to observe Thursday's preseason game against the Bengals on the sidelines. He'll have two more opportunities to see preseason action ahead of the Eagles' regular-season opener against the Cowboys on Thursday, Sept. 4. With Brown and Terrace Marshall (knee) sidelined, Johnny Wilson and Ainias Smith will continue to rotate in three-wideout sets with the first-team offense alongside DeVonta Smith and Jahan Dotson.

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Sitting out Thursday

Brown (hamstring) isn't suited up for Thursday's preseason game versus the Bengals, Brooks Kubena of The Athletic reports. Brown was held out the Eagles' three practices in advance of their exhibition opener due to a hamstring injury, so it comes as no surprise that he'll sit out Thursday. He'll have two more chances for preseason action ahead of Week 1, which Philadelphia will open on Thursday, Sept. 4 against the Cowboys.

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: No practice Monday

Brown (hamstring) isn't practicing Monday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. Brown previously missed the second half of Friday's practice and all of Sunday's session. He's present Monday, but only as an observer as the Eagles prepare for their preseason opener Thursday against Cincinnati.

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Managing hamstring injury

Brown isn't practicing Sunday due to a hamstring issue, Andrew DiCecco of InsideTheBirds.com reports. Per Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia, Brown also missed the second half of practice Friday. The severity of the hamstring injury isn't clear, but Philadelphia figures to be cautious with the star wideout given that the regular season is still over a month away. In better news for the Eagles' wideout corps, DeVonta Smith returned to practice Sunday after missing a few days with a tight back.

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Finds end zone in SB win

Brown secured three of five targets for 43 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles' 40- 22 win over the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday. Brown saw a 32-yard reception on the Eagles' first drive wiped out by an offensive pass interference penalty against him, but the talented wideout would go on to make up for it with a 22-yard reception on third down early in the second quarter and a 12-yard touchdown grab later in the period. He finished second on the team in catches and tied for second in targets with fellow wideout DeVonta Smith on the night, and after mustering just a 3-24-0 line during the Eagles' first two playoff games, Brown amassed a combined nine catches for 139 yards and two touchdowns on 13 targets during the NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl.

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Bounces back with 96 yards, TD

Brown caught six of eight targets for 96 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 55-23 win over the Commanders in the NFC Championship Game. After being held to three catches for 24 yards over the first two games of this playoff run, Brown bounced back with four catches for 61 yards and a touchdown in the first half alone. That production included a 31-yard catch on fourth down in the second quarter on a drive that culminated in the third of Philadelphia's seven rushing touchdowns, followed by a four-yard Brown touchdown catch in the final minute of the first half. Brown paced the Eagles in receiving yards to help clinch their second Super Bowl berth in three years. Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans on Feb. 9 will either be a rematch against the Chiefs or a battle against the Bills.

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Gets back to full Thursday

Brown (knee/rest/illness) was a full practice participant Thursday. Brown was limited at Wednesday's walkthrough due to knee/rest, which dates back to Week 16 prep. Despite getting back to full one day later, he also was listed with an illness. In two playoff games to date, Brown has earned at least a 90 percent snap share both times but compiled a measly 3-24-0 line on 10 targets. He'll look to be more involved on offense Sunday against a Commanders defense that he put up a combined 13 catches (on 23 targets) for 162 yards and one touchdown in two regular-season matchups.

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Just two catches in Sunday's win

Brown caught two of seven targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 28-22 divisional-round win over the Rams. The Eagles' passing game has been completely de-emphasized during their playoff run, and Brown's production has taken the biggest hit. The star wideout has only a 3-24-0 line on 10 targets through two games -- a lower yardage total than he delivered in any single game during the regular season. Unless the Commanders find some way to bottle up Saquon Barkley next Sunday in the NFC Championship Game, Brown may have trouble making an impact again.

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Officially limited Thursday

Brown (knee/rest) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday. As he predicted, Brown followed up Wednesday's absence from practice with a cap on his reps one day later as he continues to deal with a knee injury that has lingered since preparations for Week 16. He's played in three of four games in the meantime -- in the fourth, Week 18 against the Giants, most Eagles starters sat out -- and he's handled greater than a 90 percent snap share all three times. Ultimately, Friday's practice report will reveal whether or not Brown enters the weekend with a designation ahead of Sunday's divisional-round contest against the Rams.

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Sits out practice Wednesday

Brown (knee/rest) didn't practice Wednesday. Brown continues to manage a knee issue, with the wideout indicating that his lack of participation Wednesday was planned before he returns to the field Thursday, per Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia. If he doesn't practice fully Thursday, Brown will likely do so Friday and approach Sunday's divisional-round game against the Rams without an injury designation.

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Not needed in Sunday's win

Brown caught one of three targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 22-10 wild-card round win over the Packers. The Eagles' offense didn't really need to do much after jumping out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter, but Brown's lack of volume was still curious. Tight end Dallas Goedert wound up leading the team with six targets, however, with Brown finishing third behind DeVonta Smith's four. Brown hasn't received fewer than six targets in consecutive games all year, so chances are good that Philly's leading receiver will be much more involved in the divisional round after posting a 67-1,079-7 line in only 13 regular-season contests.

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Back at practice Friday

Brown (knee) is participating in Friday's practice, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports. Brown was limited in practice Wednesday then sat out Thursday's session, so it's encouraging to see him back on the field in some capacity Friday. Meanwhile, DeVonta Smith is not practicing Friday due to back tightness, but he's expected to be available for Sunday's wild-card round matchup against the Packers, while Jalen Hurts has cleared the concussion protocol. Friday's official injury report will reveal whether Brown's status is truly uncertain for Sunday's game, or whether his missed practices have been more related to maintenance.

  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Not seen at practice

Brown (knee/rest) wasn't spotted during the media-access portion of Thursday's practice, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. After Wednesday's session, Brown was listed as limited due to knee/rest, which has been the norm for the wide receiver stretching back to Week 16 prep. While he played Weeks 16 and 17, he was held out of the Eagles' regular-season finale against the Giants along with a number of other starters. According to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer, there's an expectation that Brown will suit up for Sunday's wild-card game against the Packers, so his potential absence Thursday may be related to maintenance. Philadelphia's upcoming injury report ultimately will reveal Brown's activity level, or lack thereof.
... See More ... See Less
  • Eagles' A.J. Brown: Not playing in Week 18

Brown (knee) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Giants. Though he was listed as doubtful with a knee injury before being included on the Eagles' 11-player inactive list, Brown's absence is likely rest-related more than anything. The Eagles are locked into the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoffs and won't expose Brown to an injury in a meaningless regular-season finale. Brown should be ready to play a full complement of snaps in the Eagles' wild-card game against a yet-to-be-determined opponent.
