Dolphins' Darrell Baker: Set to return midseason
Coach Jeff Hafley stated Tuesday that Baker (undisclosed) likely will be out until midseason, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
Baker joined the Dolphins in March as a healthy defensive back, but an unknown injury popped up in late July. With Storm Duck (knee) also set to return midseason, the team will be thin on defensive backs for opening day. JuJu Brents, Jason Marshall, Alex Austin and the remaining healthy defensive backs will have a chance to start Week 1 if they show out in training camp and the preseason.

Dolphins' Darrell Baker: Moved to PUP list
Baker (undisclosed) was placed on the active/PUP list Thursday.

Dolphins' Darrell Baker: Signing with Miami
The Dolphins have agreed to a one-year deal with Baker, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Baker became an unrestricted free agent when the Titans chose not to tender him, leading to a signing with the Dolphins. The cornerback started the final 10 games of the 2025 regular season for the Titans, logging 97 percent or more of the defensive snaps in nine of those contests. Now proven to be able to handle a starting role, the 27-year-old will look to compete for one of the primary outside cornerback jobs in 2026.

Darrell Baker: Not tendered by Titans
Baker will become an unrestricted free agent March 11, as the Titans are not tendering the restricted free-agent cornerback, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Baker had 55 tackles (39 solo) and seven passes defensed for the Titans in 2025 while appearing in all 17 games. Tennessee remains interested in bringing Baker back, but he's also expected to have interest elsewhere on the open market.

Baker was bombarded with back luck this week, sustaining both a knee injury and illness that threatened to take his playing eligibility for Sunday. Baker popped up on Tennessee's injury report Wednesday due to a knee issue. The illness was added on Friday's report, and Baker was deemed questionable for Sunday. Baker posted 12 tackles (nine solo) and a pass defense during the Titans' 16-13 loss to the Texans on Sunday.
Baker entered Week 11 having not recorded more than five tackles through nine regular-season games, but he was far busier during Sunday's AFC South tilt and finished with a game-high 12 stops. Baker has stepped into a larger role in the Titans' secondary over the team's last four games, a development that's coincided with L'Jarius Sneed (quadriceps) being placed on injured reserve and Roger McCreary being traded to the Rams, both which took place in late October. Baker and the Titans will welcome in the Seahawks in Week 12.
