Jaguars' Cole Van Lanen: Not playing vs. Buffalo
Van Lanen (knee) is inactive for Sunday's AFC wild-card game against the Bills, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
Van Lanen injured his right knee during the Jaguars' Week 18 win over the Titans, just two days after inking a three-year, $51 million contract extension. The fifth-year offensive lineman earned himself the questionable tag for the wild-card round after logging a full practice Friday, but his knee injury was severe enough for him to not be cleared by medical staff to play Sunday. In Van Lanen's absence, Walker Little is expected to draw the start at left tackle, per Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network.

Jaguars' Cole Van Lanen: Questionable for wild-card round
Van Lanen (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's wild-card game against the Bills.
The Jaguars are mostly healthy heading into the playoffs, but the status of their starting left tackle is up in the air. If Van Lanen doesn't suit up, it could be a major blow considering his strong play has been an understated factor in Jacksonville's second-half surge this season. Walker Little would likely fill in if Van Lanen is unavailable.

Jaguars' Cole Van Lanen: DNP in walkthrough
Van Lanen (knee) did not participate in Wednesday's walkthrough practice, Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union reports.
Van Lanen left last Sunday's win over the Titans late in the fourth quarter with a knee injury. The left tackle's status for Sunday's wild-card game against the Bills will likely be determined by the results of Thursday and Friday's practices. If Van Lanen is unable to upgrade his participation and must sit out Sunday's game, Walker Little would likely start at tackle opposite Anton Harrison.

Jaguars' Cole Van Lanen: Hurts knee Sunday
Van Lanen left Sunday's 41-7 win versus the Titans with a knee injury, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports.
Van Lanen left the game in the middle of the fourth quarter when Jacksonville already held a 27-point lead, so any ding or bruise might have been sufficient reason for the Jaguars to reel in their starting left tackle. His status will be worth keeping an eye on as Jacksonville gets ready to host its first postseason game since 2022.

Jaguars' Cole Van Lanen: Inks three-year extension
The Jaguars signed Van Lanen to a three-year, $51 million extension Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
According to Schefter, the deal contains $32.5 million guaranteed and can be worth up to $55 million. Selected in the sixth round of the 2021 Draft by the Packers, Van Lanen was traded to Jacksonville following his rookie season and started just three games across his first four NFL seasons. Van Lanen, however, started at left guard in Week 10 this season and never looked back. He started Weeks 11 and 12 at right tackle and has played the past four games at left tackle. Van Lanen has played every position on the offensive line outside of center. Van Lanen is now signed through the 2028 season.
