Alex Akingbulu: Reaches injury settlement
The Commanders waived Akingbulu (undisclosed) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Wednesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Akingbulu was set to miss the entire 2024 season after reverting to Washington's injured reserve Aug. 7. With the settlement, he will now be able to join another team once he is fully recovered from whatever is ailing him.

Commanders' Alex Akingbulu: Reverts to IR
Akingbulu (undisclosed) reverted to the Commanders' injured reserve Wednesday after clearing waivers, per the NFL's transaction log.
The 26-year-old offensive lineman was waived/injured by Washington on Tuesday, and after clearing waivers, he's reverted to the team's IR. Akingbulu will be forced to miss all of 2024 unless the two parties can reach an injury settlement at some point this year.
