The Chargers signed Weaver to the practice squad Thursday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Weaver gives the Chargers some edge-rushing depth after Khalil Mack was lost to injured reserve with an elbow injury earlier this week. Weaver has appeared in 36 career regular-season contests, recording 5.5 sacks.

Rashad Weaver: Set to become free agent
The Jets released Weaver (undisclosed) with an injury settlement Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Weaver was slated to spend the entire 2025 season on the Jets' injured reserve list after suffering an unspecified injury during training camp, but now he'll become a free agent instead. He'll be able to suit up with any team willing to sign him as soon as he's back in football shape.

Jets' Rashad Weaver: Placed on IR
Weaver (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve by the Jets on Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Weaver appears to have suffered an undisclosed injury at training camp with New York, which is now set to sideline him for the season. The linebacker would be eligible to return to action this year if he reached an injury settlement with the team, otherwise he'll shift his focus to being ready for 2026.

Jets' Rashad Weaver: Set to join Jets
Weaver is in line to sign a one-year contract with New York, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Weaver, a 2021 fourth-round pick, spent the first three seasons of his career in Tennessee before being waived, then appearing in just three games with the Texans in 2024. He'll now work to secure a depth role in the Jets' pass rush rotation.

Rashad Weaver: Let go by Houston
The Texans waived Weaver on Tuesday.
Weaver caught on with the Texans in early September after being waived by the Titans at the end of training camp. He played just 40 snaps (14 on defense, 26 on special teams) across three regular-season outings but did not record a tackle over that span. Should he clears waivers, Weaver will look to catch on with a team in need of depth at defensive end.

Titans' Rashad Weaver: Healthy scratch Sunday
Weaver (coach's decision) is inactive ahead of Sunday's game against Atlanta.
The 25-year-old linebacker had been playing a limited role on Tennessee's defense this season after recording 5.5 sacks last year, and it now seems as if he's fallen even further down the team's depth chart. Weaver has posted only six total tackles this year while playing on 18 percent of the Titans' defensive snaps.

Titans' Rashad Weaver: Big step forward in second season
Weaver recorded 27 tackles, 5.5 sacks and six passes defended across 16 games in 2022.
After playing only 11 defensive snaps in his rookie season, Weaver joined Tennesse's normal linebacker rotation in 2022. He responded by showing an ability to get pressure on the quarterback while also helping out in coverage. Weaver should have the chance to take another step forward as he enters this third year as a pro in 2023.

Titans' Rashad Weaver: Logs 1.5 sacks Sunday
Weaver recorded logged 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble on his two tackles in Sunday's 17-10 win over the Broncos.
Weaver came up big with 1.5 sacks on Denver's final offensive drive, including a strip-sack that was ultimately recovered for a nine-yard loss by the Broncos. The second-year outside linebacker now has 12 tackles, including 5.5 sacks, over eight games this season, and he should continue to see plenty of pass-rushing opportunities if Bud Dupree (hip) remains out against the Packers on Thursday.

Titans' Rashad Weaver: Full participant Wednesday
Weaver (back) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Weaver was sidelined for Week 8 against the Texans due to a back issue, but he's on track to return Sunday in Kansas City. The Pittsburgh product has enjoyed success in his second season of NFL action, registering 10 tackles (eight solo) four sacks, one pass defensed and one forced fumble through six games.

Titans' Rashad Weaver: Won't play Sunday
Weaver (back) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Texans, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Weaver played a season-low 41 percent of the Titans' defensive snaps in Week 7 and was unable to practice during Week 8 prep due a back issue. The extent of his injury remains unclear, but the second-year linebacker will turn his focus on trying to suit up in Week 9. The Titans already have two outside linebackers on IR, so they'll be extremely thin on pass rushers against Houston.
