Lions' Joe Bachie: Heading to Detroit
The Lions signed Bachie on Wednesday.
Detroit will be Bachie's fourth team in as many years. He's logged regular-season snaps, mostly on special teams, in each of his seven seasons since he made his pro debut with Philadelphia in 2020. The Lions lost veteran starter Alex Anzalone to the Buccaneers in free agency back in March, so there could be room for Bachie to stick on the 53-man roster in a depth role in 2026.

Titans' Joe Bachie: Joins Titans' active roster
Tennessee signed Bachie (foot) from the practice squad to the active roster Thursday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Bachie suited up for five regular-season games with the Colts this year prior to being placed on IR and then cut with an injury settlement. Across that span, he racked up 26 tackles (11 solo) and one pass defensed. Now healthy, he'll be eligible to contribute as a member of Indianapolis' linebacker corps behind Cody Barton and Cedric Gray.

Joe Bachie: Cut loose by Colts
Indianapolis released Bachie (foot) from IR with an injury settlement Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Bachie played a key role for the Colts early in the campaign, racking up 26 tackles and one defensed pass while playing 157 defensive snaps over the team's first five games. However, he landed on IR due to a foot/toe issue Oct. 8 and has now parted ways with the club. It's unclear how much time Bachie will need to recover from the injury.

Colts' Joe Bachie: Shifts to IR
Bachie (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
Prior to his injury, Bachie was one of the Colts' top reserve linebackers, recording 26 total tackles and one pass defended over 157 defensive snaps. He's now forced to miss at least Indianapolis' next four games, with his earliest possible return coming in the Week 10 matchup against the Falcons. While Bachie is sidelined, newly signed Germaine Pratt is likely to operate as the Colts' top reserve inside linebacker.

Colts' Joe Bachie: Struggles with penalities
Bachie had three total tackles and battled down a pass attempt in Sunday's win over Las Vegas. However, he committed three penalities and allowed receptions on both passes targeted at him, according to Pro Football Focus.
Bachie played on just 19 of the team's 68 snaps on defense which may have been a byproduct of his mistakes, but also just to give him some rest amid a blowout win. He could be at risk of a downturn in playing time in Week 6 as a result of the miscues, however.

Colts' Joe Bachie: Six tackles in opener
Bachie started at linebacker opposite Zaire Franklin and had six total tackles in Sunday's win over Miami.
Bachie is one of two linebackers on the field in Indy's base defense and played on 22 of the defense's 47 snaps. He'll likely come off the field in nickel and dime formations, which will limit his fantasy upside.

Colts' Joe Bachie: Wins starting LB role
Bachie looks set to start opposite Zaire Franklin at linebacker, The Athletic reports.
The Colts mostly use a two-linebacker formation, so Bachie will be a key defender in Indy's defensive scheme. He only started two games in his first five seasons. Segun Olubi and Cameron McGrone made the 53-man roster as backup linebackers.

Colts' Joe Bachie: Signs with Indianapolis
Bachie signed with the Colts on Wednesday, Joel Erickson of the team's official site reports.
Bachie has seemingly recovered from the groin injury that landed him on Cincinnati's injured reserve last December and will now head to Indianapolis. The 27-year-old racked up three tackles (three solo) across 12 games during the 2024 campaign as he saw the majority of his playing time on special teams and will likely have a similar role with the Colts.

Bengals' Joe Bachie: Out for rest of regular season
The Bengals placed Bachie (groin) on injured reserve Saturday.
Bachie suffered a groin injury against Dallas this past Monday, and head coach Zac Taylor said early this week he'd be out multiple games. That's now official, as Bachie will be required to sit out the remainder of the regular season while on IR. Bachie could theoretically return for the playoffs, but the Bengals are very unlikely to qualify given their current 5-8 record.
