Jets' David Onyemata: Placed on IR with groin injury
The Jets placed Onyemata (groin) on injured reserve Tuesday.
Onyemata injured his groin during Sunday's 20-17 overtime loss to the Packers, and the injury is severe enough for the veteran defensive tackle to spend time on injured reserve. He's required to miss at least four games, so the earliest Onyemata can return is Week 7 against the Dolphins on Sunday, Oct. 25. Darrell Jackson and Jowon Briggs are in line for more rotational defensive snaps behind starters T'Vondre Sweat and Harrison Phillips for as long as Onyemata is on the shelf.

Jets' David Onyemata: Agrees to join Jets
Onyemata agreed to a one-year, $10.5 million contract with the Jets on Monday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Onyemata's contract, which can be officially signed at the start of the new league year Wednesday, includes $9.65 million in guaranteed money. He's projected to work as a starter on the interior of the Jets' defensive line after posting a career-high 62 tackles (29 solo) in 17 games for the Falcons in 2025.
