Rams' Britain Covey: Four catches in preseason finale
Rotowire
Covey secured four of six targets for 32 yards and returned one punt for 14 yards during Saturday's 19-17 preseason loss to the Browns.
The veteran's final appearance in the preseason started off with quarterback Dresser Winn's first target of the game, which fell incomplete. More notable for Covey's chances of making the final 53-man roster was who wasn't out on the field Saturday, as Xavier Smith and Konata Mumpfield joined Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington as players who head coach Sean McVay chose to rest. Given Covey's rather quiet preseason, his most likely outcome is a spot on the Rams' practice squad, unless the team chooses to keep seven wideouts on its initial 53-man roster.

Rams' Britain Covey: Underwhelming in victory
Rotowire
Covey caught three of six targets for 13 yards and returned one punt for two yards during Saturday's 23-22 preseason victory against the Chargers.
On a day where many of the Rams wideouts battling to make the final cut had excellent games, Covey struggled to get anything going. Xavier Smith, Covey's primary competition for a roster spot, secured all four of his targets for 49 yards and protected his spot as the sixth (and potentially final) wideout on the Rams' initial 53-man roster. Covey will get one last chance to make an impression for his new team against the Browns in next week's preseason finale for the Rams.

Rams' Britain Covey: Makes most of two touches
Rotowire
Covey caught both of his targets for 31 yards during Saturday's 31-21 preseason win versus the Cowboys.
The former Eagles wideout notched a nifty 26-yard gain on a deep pass from Stetson Bennett, but he didn't get an opportunity to showcase his skills as a return man, which was his primary role back in Philadelphia. Xavier Smith is his main competition for that role with the Rams, and his incumbent status likely has the edge over Covey so far to retain the role. The most likely outcome for Covey is a spot on the practice squad and a role if injuries befall the wide receiver corps.

Rams' Britain Covey: Gets one-year deal with Rams
Rotowire
Los Angeles signed Covey (neck) to a one-year contract Monday.
Covey spent last year with the Eagles, securing seven of eight targets for 34 yards across his five regular-season appearances. A neck injury sustained Week 13 forced Covey to land on IR, and though he resumed practicing in full late during the playoffs, he wasn't able to gain clearance in time to suit up for Philadelphia's win over the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. Now healthy, Covey will compete for an opportunity to earn a depth role with the Rams.

Rotowire
Covey (neck), who remains on IR, practiced in full Friday and has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
Covey won't be activated from IR in time to contribute for the Super Bowl, despite his evident health at practice. In addition to his efforts as a punt returner, the 27-year-old logged seven catches for 34 yards on eight targets across his five regular-season appearances.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Logs full practice Wednesday
Rotowire
Covey (neck) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
Covey hasn't played since Week 13 due to a neck injury, which was significant enough for the Eagles to place him on injured reserve. If he can log full practices all week, Covey would be a candidate to be activated from IR ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl matchup with the Chiefs. The 27-year-old wideout caught seven passes (on eight targets) for 34 yards across five appearances during the regular season and also contributed as a punt returner.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Practice window opens
Rotowire
The Eagles announced Wednesday that Covey (neck) has been designated for return from IR, which opens his 21-day practice window, Andrew DiCecco of InsideTheBirds.com reports.
Covey is being designated to return to practice at his earliest date of eligibility, which may bode well for his chances for gaining clearance to play in time for Sunday's home NFC Championship Game against the Commanders. Once he's gained full medical clearance and retakes the field, the third-year wideout will contribute in a depth role on offense, as well as take on work in the return game.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Placed on IR due to neck injury
Rotowire
The Eagles placed Covey (neck) on injured reserve Saturday.
Covey has been nursing a neck injury that he picked up against the Ravens in Week 13. That has forced him to be sidelined for the Eagles' last three games, and he has already been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Cowboys. Covey's placement on IR means his regular season is over, but he could return in the postseason if the Eagles make it to the NFC Championship Game. Covey will finish the 2024 regular season with seven catches (on eight targets) for 34 yards while adding 46 punt return yards in five games.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Won't play in Week 17
Rotowire
Covey (neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Cowboys.
Covey has been dealing with a neck issue since Dec. 1, when he was injured in a win over the Ravens. The third-year wideout didn't play in any of the Eagles' subsequent three games, but it appeared he could return this week after being deemed a full practice participant Wednesday and Thursday. However, Covey didn't practice Friday, so he may have suffered a setback. Kenneth Gainwell likely will continue to handle kick returns with Covey out of action.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Full participant Thursday
Rotowire
Covey (neck) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Opens week with limited practice
Rotowire
Covey (neck) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday.
Covey hurt his neck Week 13 against Baltimore and missed this past Sunday's victory versus Carolina. By beginning this week with a limited practice session, Covey could potentially return to action Sunday against Pittsburgh. If Covey can play, his impact would likely be felt mostly on special teams, as he has worked as Philadelphia's lead punt returner while seeing limited snaps on offense.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Upgraded to limited Thursday
Rotowire
Covey (neck) was listed as a limited practice participant Thursday.
Covey didn't participate in Wednesday's walkthrough due to a neck injury he suffered against the Ravens this past Sunday. His ability to practice Thursday is a sign that he is progressing in his recovery, though he would have to log a full practice Friday in order to avoid an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against Carolina.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Estimated as DNP
Rotowire
Covey (neck) was listed as a DNP on Wednesday's estimated injury report.
Covey suffered a neck injury during a punt return in the second half of the Eagles' 24-19 win over the Ravens this past Sunday. Although the Eagles' session Wednesday was a walkthrough, his DNP still doesn't bode well for his chances of playing against the Panthers on Sunday. Covey will have to return to practice over the next two days in order to have a chance at suiting up for Week 14.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Reinstated from injured reserve
Rotowire
The Eagles activated Covey (shoulder) from injured reserve Saturday, and he carries no injury designation into Sunday's game against the Rams.
Covey suffered a shoulder injury in Week 3 against the Saints, which forced him to be sidelined for the Eagles' last seven games. The 27-year-old wideout was a full participant in practice all week, and he's progressed through his injury enough to play Sunday. Covey has logged seven catches on as many targets for 34 yards in three regular-season games.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Could return in Week 12
Rotowire
Covey (shoulder) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Rams.
Covey has missed the Eagles' last seven games due to a shoulder injury sustained the Week 3 win over the Saints. The Utah product practiced in full all week and appears to be trending toward playing in Sunday's contest, but he must still be activated to Philadelphia's active roster in order to suit up. If Covey can play in Week 12, he'll likely assume the Eagles' top punt-returner duties and serve as a depth piece in their wide receiver room.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Still nursing shoulder issue
Rotowire
Covey (shoulder) has not been designated to return to practice from the injured reserve list after Week 11, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.
Covey has missed the Eagles' last seven games due to a broken shoulder he suffered in Week 3 at New Orleans, and it appears he'll probably have to sit out at least one more as Week 12 approaches. It also looks like he may have a slightly different role awaiting him when he returns, as special teams coordinator Michael Clay said Tuesday that rookie second-rounder Cooper DeJean would retain a spot in Philadelphia's punt-return unit even after Covey becomes available again.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Heads to IR
Rotowire
The Eagles placed Covey (shoulder) on injured reserve Tuesday.
Though the Eagles haven't provided a precise diagnosis of the shoulder injury Covey sustained in Sunday's 15-12 win over the Saints, his move to IR ensures that he'll miss at least the next four games. Philadelphia signed tight end Jack Stoll to the 53-man roster in a corresponding move, while Cooper DeJean is likely in line to serve as the Eagles' punt returner in Covey's absence.

Eagles' Britain Covey: Injures shoulder Sunday
Rotowire
Covey suffered a shoulder injury during Sunday's game at New Orleans.
Covey took advantage of A.J. Brown's (hamstring) absence Week 2 against the Falcons, hauling in all six of his targets for 23 yards. However, he was targeted only once (an 11-yard catch) before exiting Sunday in the second quarter. Currently, DeVonta Smith, Jahan Dotson, Johnny Wilson and Parris Campbell are the healthy wide receivers on the Eagles' active roster.
