  • Giants' Darius Slayton: Out until July after core surgery

Slayton (abdomen) recently underwent surgery on a core-muscle injury and will miss spring workouts, but he's expected to be available for training camp in July, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Slayton is expected to face a multi-month recovery timeline, but he would have plenty of time to ramp up ahead of the regular season in September if the veteran wide receiver is indeed cleared by the start of training camp. The Giants lost 2025 target leader Wan'Dale Robinson in free agency but are expected to get top wide receiver Malik Nabers (knee) back in 2026 and bolstered their wide receiver room by signing Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin, in addition to drafting Malachi Fields in the third round, providing competition for Slayton's starting job.

  • Giants' Darius Slayton: Four catches in season finale

Slayton caught four of nine targets for 34 yards in Sunday's 34-17 win over Dallas.

Slayton was able to reel in at least four passes for the first time since Week 15 and the fifth time overall this season. The wide receiver finished his seventh campaign in New York having caught 37 of 64 targets for 538 yards and one touchdown over 14 regular-season contests. Slayton will enter the offseason as a free agent, and his 14.5 yards per reception this year will likely attract some potential new suitors ahead of the 2026 campaign.

  • Giants' Darius Slayton: Makes most of two catches

Slayton recorded two receptions on three targets for 36 yards in Sunday's 34-10 win over the Raiders.

Wan'Dale Robinson was the focal point of the Giants' offense, but Slayton played well in a complementary role. He tallied long catches of 21 and 15 yards, both of which helped set up scoring plays for the team. Despite the efficiency, Slayton has now seen three or fewer targets in four of his last five games.

  • Giants' Darius Slayton: Held to one catch in Week 16 loss

Slayton caught one of two targets for eight yards in Sunday's 16-13 loss to Minnesota.

On a day when New York logged 30 rushing plays and went to the air just 13 times, Slayton's eight receiving yards represented nearly a quarter of QB Jaxson Dart's paltry total of 33 passing yards. Slayton also tied for the second-most targets on the team (two), and only No. 1 wideout Wan'Dale Robinson finished with more receiving yards (19). Given the extreme run-heavy approach Sunday, not much should be taken away from any Giants pass-catcher's performance, but it's worth observing that Slayton has logged two or fewer receptions in three of his past four contests. A matchup against the Raiders' uninspiring secondary awaits in Week 17, though it should be interesting to see how both teams approach that game as the "loser" of the contest will have the clear inside track to the No. 1 overall pick in next year's NFL Draft.

  • Giants' Darius Slayton: Four catches against Commanders

Slayton caught four of 10 targets for 53 yards in Sunday's 29-21 loss to Washington.

The 10 targets were a season high for Slayton, but the volume didn't lead to much production. The veteran wideout has a mediocre 30-460-1 line on 50 targets through 11 games on the season, giving him little fantasy appeal heading into a Week 16 meeting with the Vikings.
