  • Ravens' Jaire Alexander: Won't play against Detroit

Alexander (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday's game against the Lions. Alexander did not feature on the Ravens' injury report this past week, which means the veteran corner will be a healthy scratch for a second consecutive game. T.J. Tampa and Keyon Martin will serve as the Ravens' backup corners behind Chidobe Awuzie and Nate Wiggins in Monday's interconference showdown. Alexander's next chance to play is Week 4 against the Chiefs on Sunday.

  • Ravens' Jaire Alexander: Healthy scratch Week 2

Alexander (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Browns. Alexander was able to practice in full Thursday and Friday after being limited in Wednesday's session due to a lingering knee issue that caused him to miss time during training camp in August. He played just 33 of 85 defensive snaps during the Ravens' Week 1 loss to the Bills, so an extra week of rest could be what Alexander needs to be fully healthy, and his next chance to play is Week 3 against the Lions on Monday, Sept. 22. Chidobe Awuzie will likely step in as the Ravens' second starting outside corner opposite Nate Wiggins in Alexander's absence.

  • Ravens' Jaire Alexander: Practices fully Thursday

Alexander (knee) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. Alexander was limited Wednesday due to a lingering knee injury but practiced without limitations Thursday. The veteran cornerback's injury will likely continue to cut into his practice reps at times, but it doesn't seem to be threatening his availability for games. Alexander will likely continue to play a rotational cornerback role in Week 2 against the Browns.

  • Ravens' Jaire Alexander: Limited to open week

Alexander (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Despite a lingering knee issue, Alexander was able to suit up for the Ravens' Week 1 loss against the Bills this past Sunday, when he finished with three tackles (two solo) while playing 33 of 85 defensive snaps. He'll likely remain limited in practices to manage the injury, and there's no indication that he will miss the Ravens' Week 2 AFC North clash against the Browns on Sunday, barring a setback. Even so, Alexander could be deployed on a part-time basis early in the season, which means Chidobe Awuzie -- who played 67 defensive snaps Week 1 -- should continue to see additional work at outside corner opposite Nate Wiggins.

  • Ravens' Jaire Alexander: Upgrades to full participation

Alexander (knee) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Jonas Shaffer of the Baltimore Banner reports. Alexander was sidelined by a knee injury from Aug. 9 until Wednesday, when he practiced in a limited capacity. It's a great sign for the veteran cornerback that he managed to shed those limitations the next day. Alexander's poised to make his Ravens debut in primetime against the Bills on SNF.

  • Ravens' Jaire Alexander: Officially limited Wednesday

Alexander (knee) was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Alexander missed close to a month of practice and the entirety of the preseason this summer, but his return to the field Wednesday would seem to give him a shot to suit up Sunday night versus Buffalo.

  • Ravens' Jaire Alexander: Back at practice

Alexander (knee) returned to practice Wednesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. The official injury report has yet to come out, but Hensley stated Alexander will likely be listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's session. This is the first time the veteran corner has practiced since Aug. 9, which is a good sign for his potential availability in Baltimore's Week 1 contest against the Bills. However, if Alexander is still unable to go Sunday, T.J. Tampa will likely step in and start opposite Nate Wiggins.

  • Ravens' Jaire Alexander: Not yet practicing

Alexander (knee) isn't practicing Monday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. Alexander has been held out of practice since Aug. 9 due to a knee issue. Head coach John Harbaugh said last week that the veteran cornerback is "pushing" to be ready for Week 1, but that's far from a certainty. If Alexander is unable to suit up Sunday against the Bills, T.J. Tampa, Chidobe Awuzie or Marlon Humphrey could draw a start in his stead.

  • Ravens' Jaire Alexander: Could be ready for Week 1

Head coach John Harbaugh said Monday that Alexander (knee) is "pushing" towards returning to practice ahead of the Ravens' Week 1 game against the Bills on Sunday, Sept. 7, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Alexander's practice participation during training camp has been limited due to a knee issue from the 2024 regular season, when he played with the Packers. It wouldn't be surprising to see Alexander continue to sit out of practices throughout the regular season given his injury history over the past two years, but participating in a limited capacity should be enough for him to play on a week-to-week basis. If Alexander's defensive snap count is also limited, that would open the door for T.J. Tampa, Chidobe Awuzie and Marlon Humphrey to get more looks at outside corner opposite Nate Wiggins.

  • Packers' Jaire Alexander: Could remain in Green Bay

Alexander (knee) could still play for the Packers in 2025, though a trade or release also remain possible outcomes, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. Alexander is participating in Green Bay's voluntary offseason program, and the team's only addition at cornerback in the 2025 NFL Draft was Michigan's Micah Robinson, taken in the seventh round. Following the draft, however, general manager Brian Gutekunst said there were "no updates" on Alexander's status, per Demovsky. The two-time Pro Bowler has been limited the last two seasons due to injuries and is currently working his way back from surgery to address a right PCL tear, and he has two years remaining on his current contract. While all options remain on the table, a reconciliation between both sides might be the best outcome for Green Bay based on the team's current roster.

  • Packers' Jaire Alexander: Participating in offseason program

Alexander (knee) participated in the Packers' virtual offseason program this past week, Wes Hodkiewicz of the team's official site reports. There were discussions within the Packers' organization during the offseason about trading Alexander, but the two-time Pro Bowl corner is still on Green Bay's roster following the conclusion of the 2025 NFL Draft. General manager Brian Gutekunst told reporters Saturday that Alexander "[is] still on our roster right now...we'll figure that out as we go along." Injuries have limited Alexander to 14 regular-season games over the past two years, and he's currently working through a knee injury that caused him to miss the Packers' final eight games of 2024 (including playoffs) and required surgery in late December.

  • Packers' Jaire Alexander: Candidate to be traded

The Packers have had conversations about trading Alexander (knee) this offseason, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Alexander is one of the league's premier cornerbacks when healthy, but injuries have limited him to just 14 regular-season games and two postseason appearances over the past two years. The two-time Pro Bowler is currently working his way back from a knee procedure he underwent in early January. Alexander has two years remaining on his contract, but since he carries cap hits north of $25 million in both seasons, any team interested in trading for the 28-year-old would likely be motivated to restructure his deal.

  • Packers' Jaire Alexander: Landing on IR

Green Bay is placing Alexander (knee) on injured reserve, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Alexander underwent a knee scope early this week, so it's no surprise that he's being moved to IR. Per Rapoport, the veteran cornerback will be eligible to rejoin the Packers if they make the Super Bowl, though it's unclear if he'll be fully recovered by that point. Alexander played in just seven regular-season games for the second consecutive campaign, and he's participated in that number of contests or fewer three of the past four regular seasons. He'll finish 2024 with 16 tackles (15 solo) and seven pass defenses, including two interceptions -- one of which was a pick-six.

  • Packers' Jaire Alexander: Undergoes surgery Tuesday

Alexander underwent arthroscopic right knee surgery Tuesday, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN. Alexander hasn't played since Week 11, and he ultimately elected to have surgery to reduce the pain and swelling in his knee. Schefter notes that the star cornerback could be able to return for the Super Bowl if Green Bay advances that far. Expect the Packers to place Alexander on injured reserve prior to Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Bears. Carrington Valentine will likely continue to work in a starting role at cornerback while Alexander is sidelined.

  • Packers' Jaire Alexander: Won't return in Week 17

Alexander (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Vikings, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports. The 27-year-old cornerback downgraded to a DNP at Friday's practice and is now in line to miss his sixth consecutive game Sunday due to a knee injury sustained in the Week 8 win over the Jaguars. Alexander has struggled to stay healthy over the past two seasons, appearing in just 14 of Green Bay's 33 regular-season games up to this point. With Alexander sidelined in Week 17, expect Carrington Valentine to serve as one of the Packers' top outside cornerbacks.

  • Packers' Jaire Alexander: Logs limited practice Thursday

Alexander (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Alexander was unable to play against the Saints in Week 16 despite logging full practices all week. His limited practice Thursday hints that the veteran corner may have suffered a setback in his recovery, but head coach Matt LaFleur did not comment on Alexander's rehab. Alexander's practice participation Friday will provide clarity on his chances of playing in Sunday's NFC North clash against the Vikings.

  • Packers' Jaire Alexander: Listed as full participant

Alexander (knee) was estimated as a full participant in Green Bay's practice report Wednesday. Alexander has missed the team's past five games as he's been battling a knee injury, but he appears to be nearing his return. The 27-year-old will likely be good to go for Sunday's matchup versus the Vikings where he will look to help slow down Justin Jefferson and the rest of the team's high-powered offense.

  • Packers' Jaire Alexander: Questionable for MNF

Alexander (knee) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against New Orleans. Alexander has been battling a PCL injury that's kept him sidelined for each of the last four weeks. The 27-year-old participated in full for three straight days during Week 16 prep, though he's clearly still not fully healthy. Should Alexander end up sitting out for the fifth game in a row, then Keisean Nixon, Carrington Valentine and Eric Stokes would likely slot in as the Packers' top three cornerbacks.

  • Packers' Jaire Alexander: Appears past knee injury

Alexander (knee) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. Alexander has missed the Packers' last four games due to a PCL injury in his knee that he suffered against the Bears in Week 11. He was able to log full practices last week, and while he didn't play against the Seahawks this past Sunday, he is on track to play against the Saints on Monday.

  • Packers' Jaire Alexander: Missing more time

Head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters Friday that Alexander (knee) won't play in Sunday night's matchup against the Seahawks, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. Alexander practiced in full both Wednesday and Thursday; however, LaFleur told reporters Friday that he didn't feel the All-Pro corner was ready to return based off what he observed at practice throughout the week. The Louisville product is now set to miss his fourth consecutive game Sunday, with Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine expected to serve as Green Bay's top outside cornerback duo until Alexander recovers from his PCL injury.
