The Lions cut Sutherland (undisclosed) from IR with an injury settlement Friday.
Sutherland had been placed on IR due to an undisclosed injury Aug. 14, but now that he's reached an injury settlement he'll be eligible to sign elsewhere and play during the 2025 campaign, once healthy. He played for the Birmingham Stallions during the 2025 UFL season.

Sutherland suffered an undisclosed injury during the Lions' joint practice with the Dolphins on Wednesday, per Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com. By being moved to the Lions' IR, Sutherland will be forced to miss the entire 2025 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with Detroit. Sutherland hasn't played in a regular-season game since 2021 with the Bengals.
