Top D.J. Jones News

  • Broncos' D.J. Jones: Logs 3.0 sacks in 2025

Jones recorded 39 tackles (21 solo), including 3.0 sacks and one pass defensed across 16 regular-season games with Denver in 2025.

Jones' 3.0 sacks this season matched a career high set back in 2020 as a member of the 49ers. The veteran continued to operate as the Broncos' No. 1 nose tackle in 2025, as Denver's defense was once again one of the league's best. Under contract for at least the next two seasons, the 31-year-old Jones should continue to be a strong veteran presence in the Broncos' formidable defensive front in 2026, though fellow defensive lineman Eyioma Uwazurike could push for even more playing time at nose tackle after a solid season of his own in 2025.

  • Broncos' D.J. Jones: Posts third sack of 2025

Jones registered seven tackles (four solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one pass defense during the Broncos' 34-20 loss to the Jaguars on Sunday.

Jones was credited with his third sack of the season late in the fourth quarter, when he took down Trevor Lawrence for a minimal loss. Jones' 3.0 sacks match a career high that he set in 2020 (across 14 regular-season games) as a member of the 49ers. He'll have two more opportunities to set a new career high in sacks, and he has a prime chance to do so Christmas Day against a Chiefs team that is dealing with multiple injuries to the offensive line and down to its third-string quarterback.

  • Broncos' D.J. Jones: Slated to return Week 15

Jones (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

An ankle injury prevented Jones from playing against the Raiders in Week 14, but his ability to practice in full Wednesday puts him on track to play against the Packers on Sunday. Jones' return means Eyioma Uwazurike will revert to a rotational role on the Broncos' defensive line.

  • Broncos' D.J. Jones: Out for Week 14

Jones (ankle) is officially listed as out for Sunday's game at Las Vegas, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

Jones will miss his first game of the season in Week 14 as he nurses an ankle injury that held him out of practice all week. In his absence, Eyioma Uwazurike could see extra work on the defensive line against the pass-happy Raiders.

  • Broncos' D.J. Jones: Begins Week 14 as DNP

Jones (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.

Jones suffered a shoulder injury Sunday night against Washington that caused him to miss the end of the overtime win, and he's now listed with an ankle issue. He'll probably need to return to practice in some capacity by the end of Friday in order to be able to play against Las Vegas on Sunday. Should Jones miss that matchup, Eyioma Uwazurike could see an uptick in defensive snaps.

  • Broncos' D.J. Jones: Injures shoulder on SNF

Jones is questionable to return to Sunday night's game against the Commanders due to a shoulder injury, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.

Jones was injured in the second half against Washington after he recorded two tackles (one solo) and one QB hit. While Jones is sidelined, Eyioma Uwazurike figures to see plenty of action at nose tackle for Denver.
