  • Football Team's Deshazor Everett: Shifts to IR

Washington placed Everett (pectoral) on injured reserve Thursday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports. Washington's placement on IR rules him out for the final three weeks of the regular season. Coach Ron Rivera disclosed that Everett is dealing with a pec injury, per Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post. The 28-year-old wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report, but he was forced out of last weekend's game against the 49ers with a chest issue.

  • Football Team's Deshazor Everett: Suffers chest injury

Everett (chest) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the 49ers. Troy Apke and Jeremy Reaves could handle increased roles on defense as long as Everett remains sidelined. He was forced out of Sunday's game with a chest injury during the fourth quarter.

Everett (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's contest against the Cowboys, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports. • Redskins' Deshazor Everett: Won't face Packers

Interim coach Bill Callahan said Friday that Everett (shoulder) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Packers, Craig Hoffman of 106.7 The Fan Washington reports. Everett is nursing a shoulder injury sustained during Week 13's win over the Panthers. As long as he's unable to play, Troy Apke and Jeremy Reaves stand to play expanded depth roles in Washington's secondary.

  • Redskins' Deshazor Everett: Clears concussion protocol

Everett (concussion) put in a full practice Friday. Everett increased his practice activity each day during the week and won't have an injury designation heading into Sunday's game against the Panthers. He'll provide depth in Washington's secondary.

  • Redskins' Deshazor Everett: Logs limited practice

Everett (concussion) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice. Everett wasn't able to practice Wednesday, so Thursday's limited session represents tangible progress in his recovery. The depth safety and special teams ace will need to fully clear the league's concussion protocol -- which includes meeting with an independent neurologist -- before retaking the field.

  • Redskins' Deshazor Everett: Suffers head injury

Everett was forced out of Sunday's game against the Lions with a head injury. Everett spent time on the sidelines earlier in this contest due to a neck injury. • Redskins' Deshazor Everett: Full participant Wednesday

Everett (ankle) was listed as a full participant during Wednesday's practice. Everett has been out since Week 5 with an ankle injury, but his return to practice suggests he could be back in Washington's lineup Sunday against the Lions. If he ultimately receives the green light to play, Everett's role figures to be limited to special teams.

  • Redskins' Deshazor Everett: Competing for depth job

Everett will compete with fourth-round rookie Troy Apke for a sub-package role, Rich Tandler of NBC Sports Washington reports. After starting eight games at strong safety last season, Everett likely will drop back to a depth role now that Montae Nicholson is healthy. The battle between Apke and Everett isn't of much interest for short-term IDP purposes, but it could be important to the Washington defense if the team hopes to use more three-safety packages this year.

  • Redskins' Deshazor Everett: Re-signs with Washington

The Redskins re-signed Everett to a multi-year contract Tuesday. Everett was slated to enter the 2018 season as a restricted free agent, and the Redskins opted for an undisclosed multi-year contract following his breakout season. The 26-year-old should compete for snaps at safety with Montae Nicholson and D.J. Swearinger. Su'a Cravens could be in the mix, as well.

  • Redskins' Deshazor Everett: Breakout season

Everett recorded 62 tackles (41 solo), five pass defensed and one forced fumble across 14 games this season. Everett's season got off to a slow start after he suffered a sprained MCL in mid-September, but the 25-year-old was able to make a full recovery, logging two double-digit tackle performances in the final four weeks of the season. Washington will have a crowded secondary with Su'a Cravens expected to return to the team next season, which could leave Everett with less opportunities.

  • Redskins' Deshazor Everett: Questionable for Sunday

Everett (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Stephen Czarda of the Redskins' official site reports. Everett has been nursing this injury since Week 4 and it's put a lot of pressure on the depth of the Redskins' secondary. With backup Stefan McClure (hamstring) also trying to get to full health, Washington may have to rely on just two safeties -- D.J. Swearinger and Montae Nicholson.
