Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Could be back for Week 7
Rotowire
McLaurin (quadriceps) will remain out for Monday's game against the Bears but has avoided any setbacks in his recovery thus far and has a chance at returning to action Week 7 versus the Cowboys, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Since exiting the Commanders' Week 3 win over the Raiders due to the quad injury, McLaurin hasn't practiced in any fashion and is set to miss a third straight game Monday, though he's reportedly moved through his rehab program as expected thus far. While the Commanders remain hopeful that McLaurin will be ready to go for a divisional matchup in Week 7, he'll still likely need to take reps in at least one or two practices from next Wednesday through Friday in order to gain clearance to play. With McLaurin in street clothes for another game and with Noah Brown (groin) also sidelined Week 6, Deebo Samuel is expected to serve as the Commanders' top passing-game target for another game, assuming he's able to play through the heel injury that has resulted in him taking a questionable tag into Monday.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Ruled out for Monday night
Rotowire
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said that McLaurin (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Bears, Tashan Reed of The Washington Post reports.
McLaurin and Noah Brown (groin) will both sit out Week 6, paving the way for all of Luke McCaffrey, Jaylin Lane and Chris Moore to handle increased offensive roles behind top available wideout Deebo Samuel (heel), who may himself be a game-time decision. McLaurin will end up missing his third consecutive game due to a lingering quad injury. His next chance to suit up will come Oct. 19 on the road against Dallas in Week 7.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Not spotted at Saturday's practice
Rotowire
McLaurin (quadriceps) is not participating in the early portion of Saturday's practice open to the media, Tashan Reed of The Washington Post reports.
Commanders coach Dan Quinn began Week 6 by offering some optimism about McLaurin's odds of being available, but the starting wideout now appears to be missing his third consecutive practice. If Saturday's official injury report does confirm McLaurin as a non-participant, expect him to be ruled out for Monday's matchup against the Bears, or listed as 'doubtful' at best.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Listed as non-participant
Rotowire
McLaurin (quadriceps) is listed as a non-participant on Friday's practice report.
Friday's report is an estimate, as the Commanders didn't actually practice. If McLaurin doesn't return to practice Saturday, he'll likely be listed as out/doubtful for Monday's game against Chicago.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Remains sidelined Thursday
Rotowire
McLaurin (quadriceps) isn't practicing Thursday, Tashan Reed of The Washington Post reports.
Per Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic, McLaurin went through a stretching routine with the team Thursday before moving off to a side field, though he isn't in uniform. McLaurin hasn't practiced or played since sustaining a quadriceps injury in Washington's Week 3 win against the Raiders. Head coach Dan Quinn expressed optimism earlier in the week about McLaurin potentially returning to face the Bears on Monday, but McLaurin hasn't demonstrated much tangible progress in his recovery. Washington playing Monday in Week 6 is a double-edged sword for McLaurin's fantasy managers, as the standout wide receiver has an extra day to recover but replacement options will be limited for managers banking on a McLaurin return if his status isn't decided until closer to gametime.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Won't practice Wednesday
Rotowire
Commanders coach Dan Quinn said McLaurin (quadriceps) won't practice Wednesday, Tashan Reed of The Washington Post reports.
Quinn expressed optimism earlier this week about McLaurin's chances of suiting up Week 6 against the Bears on Monday, but the veteran wideout isn't yet ready to return to the practice field. McLaurin has missed two straight contests without practicing at all in that span. It's possible the team is simply taking a cautious approach to McLaurin's recovery, and that he'll have better odds of handling on-field work as Week 6 preparation progresses. On a positive note for Washington, Quinn said Noah Brown (groin/knee) will return to practice Wednesday.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Optimism for Week 6
Rotowire
Coach Dan Quinn said Monday the Commanders are optimistic about McLaurin (quadriceps) having a chance to play in next Monday night's game against the Bears, Tashan Reed of The Washington Post reports.
McLaurin has missed the Commanders' past two games and hasn't even returned to practice yet, but Quinn's optimism suggests the star wideout could be on the practice field at some point this week. With McLaurin and Noah Brown (groin/knee) missing the past two contests, Washington has leaned on Deebo Samuel as the unquestioned WR1 while cycling through Luke McCaffrey, Chris Moore, Jaylin Lane and Tay Martin behind Samuel.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Ruled out for Week 5
Rotowire
McLaurin (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at the Chargers.
McLaurin thus will miss a second consecutive contest due to the quad injury that he sustained Week 3 against the Raiders. On a positive note, he made his first appearance at practice Thursday since then, taking part in the team stretch, per Tashan Reed of The Washington Post. Fellow WR Noah Brown (groin/knee) also won't travel with the Commanders to Los Angeles, leaving Deebo Samuel (heel), Luke McCaffrey, Chris Moore and Jaylin Lane as the current available wide receivers on the active roster. McLaurin's next chance to return to action is Monday, Oct. 13 versus the Bears.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Remains sidelined from practice
Rotowire
McLaurin (quadriceps) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice.
Along with McLaurin, fellow WRs Deebo Samuel (heel) and Noah Brown (groin/knee) also were held out of drills Wednesday. On Monday, coach Dan Quinn told JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington that McLaurin and Brown were "trending in the right direction," but with the team's top three options at the position not able to practice, the state of the Commanders' receiving corps is in flux ahead of Sunday's game at the Chargers. McLaurin himself sat out Week 4 in Atlanta due to a quad issue, so it remains to be seen if his absence will extend to two contests.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Trending in right direction
Rotowire
Commanders coach Dan Quinn said Monday that McLaurin (quadriceps) is among injured players who are "are trending in the right direction," JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.
McLaurin sat out Week 4 and has yet to practice in any capacity since a quad injury forced him off the field early Week 3 versus the Raiders, but it sounds like the veteran wideout has a fair chance to return to action Week 5 against the Chargers. Quarterback Jayden Daniels (knee), meanwhile, seems a likely candidate to retake the field Sunday on the road against the Chargers. It will bode well for McLaurin if he's able to be listed as at least a limited participant on Wednesday's first official practice report of the week.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Ruled out for Week 4
Rotowire
McLaurin (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Atlanta, Commanders writer Ben Standig reports.
He hasn't practiced since making an early exit from the Week 3 win over Las Vegas. It sounds like McLaurin will miss additional time beyond Sunday, with Commanders coach Dan Quinn calling the wideout "week-to-week" on Friday, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Washington also will be without QB Jayden Daniels (knee), WR Noah Brown (groin) and TE John Bates (groin) this weekend, opening up opportunities for a slew of young players (plus QB Marcus Mariota). In any case, McLaurin's prospects for Week 5 at the Chargers don't sound good right now.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Not seen at Friday's practice
Rotowire
McLaurin (quadriceps) wasn't spotted at Friday's practice, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
After being a non-participant in Wednesday and Thursday's sessions, McLaurin's apparent absence from Friday's practice doesn't bode well for his chances of playing Sunday against the Falcons. Added clarity with regard to the wideout's Week 4 status will arrive via the Commanders' upcoming injury report, which will arrive later Friday.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Officially DNP again Thursday
Rotowire
McLaurin (quadriceps) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice.
Unless he's able to practice in some capacity Friday, McLaurin is looking increasingly unlikely to play Sunday against the Falcons after he injured his quad last Sunday against the Raiders. Deebo Samuel could be in for increased targets as the focal point of the passing offense against Atlanta.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Not spotted at practice Thursday
Rotowire
McLaurin (quadriceps) was not spotted at Thursday's practice, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
McLaurin was injured in last Sunday's win over the Raiders and has now logged back-to-back DNPs to start the week. He was seeking a second opinion on the quad injury earlier in the week, but the Commanders have yet to provide an update on their star receiver. With Noah Brown (groin) also injured and missing from practice this week, the Commanders could be down to Deebo Samuel, Luke McCaffrey, Jaylin Lane and Chris Moore for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: No practice Wednesday
Rotowire
McLaurin (quadriceps) will not practice Wednesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
McLaurin is dealing with a quad injury suffered Week 3 and is undergoing further testing, making his status for Sunday's road matchup against Atlanta uncertain. The No. 1 wideout will have two more chances to practice before the Commanders have to assign him a preliminary injury designation for Week 4. Meanwhile, coach Dan Quinn said Jayden Daniels (knee) will be limited in practice Wednesday, per Jhabvala.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Undergoing further tests on quad
Rotowire
McLaurin will undergo further testing on his injured quadriceps, and his status for Sunday's game against the Falcons is up in the air, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
McLaurin posted a 3-74-0 receiving line on four targets across 35 offensive snaps against the Raiders this past Sunday but had to leave the game with the quad injury in the second half. If McLaurin is unable to play against Atlanta, the Commanders could be down to Deebo Samuel, Luke McCaffrey, Jaylin Lane and Chris Moore at wide receiver, as Noah Brown (groin) didn't practice at all last week after being injured in Week 2 against Green Bay.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Suffers quad injury
Rotowire
McLaurin exited Sunday's game against the Raiders with a quadriceps injury.
Prior to the Commanders deeming him questionable to return early in the fourth quarter, McLaurin had three catches (on four targets) for 74 yards, including a team-high 56-yard connection with fill-in starting QB Marcus Mariota. With Noah Brown (groin) inactive, Deebo Samuel, Jaylin Lane, Luke McCaffrey and Chris Moore are Washington's healthy and available wide receivers.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: WRs to Sit
Rotowire
I thought McLaurin would get off to a slow start this season following his hold-in with his contract, and he had two catches for 27 yards on four targets in Week 1 against the Giants. We'll see how he does Thursday night in Week 2 at the Packers, but Green Bay just held Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams to eight catches for 68 yards and no touchdowns on 11 targets. I would only use McLaurin as a low-end No. 3 Fantasy receiver in the majority of leagues for Week 2. Deebo Samuel, however, is worth using as a high-end No. 3 receiver after his debut in Week 1 with seven catches for 77 yards on 10 targets against the Giants, including a 19-yard rushing touchdown. Samuel appears locked in with Jayden Daniels the most as of now.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Two catches in Week 1 win
Rotowire
McLaurin caught two of four targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 21-6 win over the Giants.
Perhaps a lack of training camp reps due to an ankle injury and since-resolved contract dispute threw off McLaurin's timing in the season opener, though he also got off to a slow start last season, with just 39 yards through Week 2. McLaurin will try to avoid the same fate Thursday when the Commanders travel to Green Bay. He had a boom-or-bust season in 2024, with four multi-touchdown performances in the regular season, as well as five games with fewer than 30 receiving yards.

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Gets extension, ending hold-in
Rotowire
McLaurin and the Commanders agreed to terms Monday on a three-year contract extension, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
McLaurin officially came off the active/PUP list Aug. 16, but he'd been sitting out practice and preseason action until such time as an agreement was finally reached on a new contract. The soon-to-be 30-year-old wideout officially will end his hold-in and suit up for on-field practices with Washington, with just under two weeks to go before the team's regular-season opener against the Giants on Sunday, Sept. 7. Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, McLaurin's new deal is a three-year, $96 million extension. Fantasy managers may still have trouble shaking lingering concerns about McLaurin having missed all of training camp and the preseason, but he remains solidified as Jayden Daniels' clear No. 1 wideout in a passing game that appears primed to take another step forward with the star signal-caller entering Year 2 and Deebo Samuel upgrading the No. 2 receiver role.
